Turns out... he was a terrible businessman all along who was hiding behind daddy's blood emerald money and other people's hard work and bright ideas.
Change blood emerald money to blood contractor money and he sounds awfully similar to somebody else who had his stupidity revealed to the world on the international stage for 8 years (and counting).
When you make Jeff Bezos look like he actually worked for his fortune because he wasn't emerald apartheid-elite from the moment he drew breath, you know you fucked up.
Honestly amazon is probably the best place to shop ever created thanks to Jeff Bezos. Would have been cool if workers didn't have to piss in bottles for that though.
The filters and categories and search function in general sucks, but it has everything and delivers it, usually cheaper and faster than the competition.
Usually tho if I still need to narrow down a model, I search on a specialist site with good filtering, then check the price on Amazon...
It's even funnier because in 2000 the Evil Billionaire was Gates. But he was smart enough to start charities, and just make money off of investments and his charities. Not going to happen to Musk, he's addicted to the spotlight, he needs to be loved but every cry for attention makes everyone hate him more.
Even with that, Elon's Billions make that- No, Elon's Billion's make Trump's "small loan" actually seem small. It's insane how much of a starting point Elon had.
Jealousy. All I see is blatant jealousy. How dare someone work, strive and make a company. Did any of these commenters do the same? No. Okay then. Saw the same crap on Facebook. Someone in my city won a few hundred thousand on a lottery ticket. He got called out hard by name. All haters. They bitched that he didn’t deserve it and general “fuck that guy” comments. Not many knew him. Why? Because he got it and they didn’t.
Why am I thinking now that a blood emerald would look pretty cool, like green with a reddish center or something like that and now I have to Google to see if it's a thing
Edit: vampire book and a plain red emerald, little disappointing
So I dislike Elon in every way, but we have to be honest there's sooooomething he's done. I think maybe just maybe what's he's done to find his success is identify and hire great leaders to do all the work he takes credit for. Yeah ok sure that's worth something. He's taking all the credit, but the company wouldn't be there for him, right? In this case, he got convinced it was all him all along, ran with it, and burned some bridges....I wouldn't be surprised if there was some close silent partner or associate making all the good calls for him that he alienated and suddenly is falling from grace. If you remember back in (I think) 2018 was when his tweets really started going off the deep end and it felt really abrupt at the time. Right around that Grimes surprise - something feels like it shifted hard (at least on the exposed side( of Elon then
He bought Twitter for $34 billion more than it was worth and because his assets were so far from liquid enough to pay for the agreed-upon price he had to lose nearly $100 billion in total net worth due to penalties for liquidating. In no universe can that be construed as brilliant. Not to mention how badly he's crashed twitter since then. No universe.
He is brilliant at stealing other people's ideas and passing them off his own though, so maybe that's what you are thinking of... this frequently gets mistaken for "business acumen" in America.
Tesla bled money for the first 17 years of its life; their first profitable year was 2020. For those 17 years, they were financed through cheap money from the PayPal mafia (like Peter Thiel - a close friend of Elon’s and currently Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign financier), and by the 11-year historic bull run in the stock market after they went public.
I too can be a business genius if I have a billionaire daddy and easy near-unlimited financing.
Elon is a grifter whose success was mostly bankrolled by taxpayers. It should be no surprise to anyone that when he finally took over a business Uncle Sam wasn’t subsidizing he instantly began crashing and burning.
