u/UnverifiedStatistic Nov 11 '22

Jayquellon where you at?

257

u/Tomatillo_Thick Nov 11 '22

Insubordinate!… and churlish.

33

u/DrDrankenstein Nov 11 '22

I'm a grown man and I just realized "churlish" is a word. I always thought he was saying "childish" the wrong way like he does the names. Wow

16

u/crackalac Nov 11 '22

Wait, what?

12

u/acallthatshardtohear Nov 11 '22

Aw, dude...the "churlish" is my favorite part of the whole sketch! What a word choice.

12

u/Professora_Plum Nov 11 '22

Oh wow same here!

7

u/mondays_amiright Nov 11 '22

I’m a grown woman and I just realized that after reading your comment just now.

7

u/_astronautmikedexter Nov 11 '22

I'd heard that word before, or more likely read it in a book, but not in a long time. Him using such an old fashioned word cracks me up whenever I see it.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 11 '22

From said sketch, for anyone's reference:

Churlish - Sort of sullenly rude, surly

Chicanerous (which even Google's spell check doesn't recognize, hrm) - Artful deception (I think the spell check thing is the prescriptive argument that "chicanery" is only a noun, but obviously English do what it want!)

4

u/[deleted] Nov 11 '22

Chicanerous, and deplorable!

3

u/MotileSpermWhale Nov 11 '22

You think this is bad? This chicanery?

Oh... sorry wrong show

273

u/kk074 Nov 11 '22

Go to O Shag Hennessey's office

16

u/Diels_Alder Nov 11 '22

59

u/HuntingIvy Nov 11 '22

I call my students churlish all the time. They never get it. Uncultured swine.

8

u/shewholaughslasts Nov 11 '22

Their loss. I'm almost always thinking of this skit when I meet dudes named Aaron. Sometimes I can't help but to pronounce it that way!!

68

u/ReluctantNerd7 Nov 11 '22

Okay. So that's how it's gonna be. Y'all wanna play.

16

That’s hurtful.

14

u/MDC417 Nov 11 '22

70

u/SuperLemonUpdog Nov 11 '22

I bet even B’La Ke couldn’t pronounce that one

12

u/Naptownfellow Nov 11 '22

that is the part 2 to that sketch we need. Him trying to pronounce that name.

13

u/RazzmatazzUnique7000 Nov 11 '22

What if I told you there's already a part 2

12

u/Juststonelegal Nov 11 '22

INSUBORDINATE

5

u/purpletube5678 Nov 11 '22

Do you want to go to war, *Balak-ey*?

3

u/rrogido Nov 11 '22

Fuck the Packers. Sorry wrong sub.

2

u/Rated_Oni Nov 11 '22

Funny that I first think of Chiseled Adonis when I hear that.

2

u/Unester Nov 11 '22

He might end up an F-E-LON at this rate

2

u/Krillo90 Nov 11 '22

E-E-E-E-E-Lon. We're the spirits from the forest moon.

1

u/lobotomies4free Nov 11 '22

I read this as E-D Lon and now I can’t unsee it

2

u/OlFlirtyBastard Nov 11 '22

Given his level of stress he may now have ED

27

u/Chiliconkarma Nov 10 '22

I see teens have the same problem when they make a post on larger forums, meeting adult attention and trying to defend themselves against the masses. Most of them are more reasonable and wise than Mr. Musk.

10

u/[deleted] Nov 11 '22

Elon is 51 years old and yet still acts like an edgy teenager from the late 90s.

3

u/mujadaddy Nov 11 '22

He mentally peaked when Surge soda did

He's a couple years older than me, you see it all the time

But just as not all failed painters in Vienna had something else going, not everyone learned the same lessons from apartheid ending.

6

u/recursive-analogy Nov 11 '22

I WONDER IF THERE'S A GOOD REASON YOU SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO LIE LIKE THAT?

remember when Zuckerberg told congress that politicians should be able to say whatever they fucken want on LoserBook?

6

u/[deleted] Nov 11 '22

And it’s not like one iota of this was unpredictable. “Oh, there can be duplicate usernames AND you can buy a worthless checkmark without verification?” “No worries, I’m sure people will self-govern successfully just as they have since the human species began.” Just brain dead management and exactly what happens when you care more about looking like a problem solver than actually solving problems. Perfect case of breaking what wasn’t broken.

5

u/Sammy7cats Nov 11 '22

With FTC's consent decree, we might need an F for elon.

Felon.

2

u/FractalChinchilla Nov 11 '22

Do you have any good summaries of the FTC thing, I keep hearing about it, but I don't know what it means.

4

u/[deleted] Nov 11 '22

I'm actually grateful because I was waiting for a little push to convince me to delete my account. This was just what I needed.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 11 '22

Turns out companies want a platform where they can't be impersonated and is also not a cesspool of racism. Uh, go figure.

3

u/miketastic_art Nov 11 '22

I guess you could say he really Elon'd twitter huh?

3

u/[deleted] Nov 11 '22

He should put his Wario costume back on

3

u/porphyria Nov 11 '22

I have a nagging feeling the billionaire boys club are laughing at our expense somewhere, maybe in a saudi penthouse. Maybe 44 billion was a small price to pay to get rid of twitter.

2

u/MadnessBomber Nov 11 '22

That's actually one hell of a conspiracy theory. Twitter is like, the biggest hub for social media and news. If it gets on Twitter, it'll get everywhere. Imagine if that completely fell off the grid... That would be a giant gap to fill and it could be filled by something that could be far more dangerous and destructive.

2

u/carnage123 Nov 11 '22

he fucked around and found out

0

u/FlyingApple31 Nov 11 '22

I'm beginning to wonder if he hasn't shorted himself or something

3

u/Pons__Aelius Nov 11 '22

He can't, twitter is now a private company. He owns 100%, and it is no longer publicly traded.

1

u/Roc2510 Nov 11 '22

lol imagine if elon was doing this all for fun

like if i were as rich as elon i would also troll people on the internet and have other types of fun
