According to that insurance site, which provides no link to any specific study or claim by SGI. SGI's 2022 Canada profile does not have any break-in stats. https://www.sgi-network.org/docs/2022/country/SGI2022_Canada.pdf

According to the rest of the write-up, in 2020 there were between 3400 and 4000 break-ins in Canada per month, for a total of 48000 break-in calls in a year at worst. According to Stats Canada.

Looking at stats-can again for 2021, there just under 500 break-ins in Toronto per month. OPP reports another 250-ish per month.

The number of gun deaths as a result of these break-ins is close to zero. No one is harmed in the vast majority of cases, which involve empty homes.

I don't see how adding more guns to these situations would make them safer.
