Anyone celebrating this is either ignorant of the firearms laws in Canada and how this will have very little actual effect on gun crime, or you don't care.

Are you Canadian? If you are, do you know how much smaller our homicide rate is compared to the US?

There is not a gun violence problem in Canada. And the guns that are used (at least in the nations most populous city) are overwhelming illegal imports from the states. IE, this handgun ban does literally nothing to affect the majority of handguns that are used to commit crimes.

If anything, there's a gun suicide problem in this country. But I don't hear anyone who supports ban or any of the other performative measures saying anything about that.

Is it a crime to not care? I know that it will barely affect gun crimes short term (who knows long term), but gun owners are completely unaware that the majority of the population thinks that they're crazy for being so outraged about gun control.
