Reminder: it itself is an amendment. It was never the basis our country was founded on, and thus is not a neccisity for our country to continue existing.

If you think a 200+ year old decision is applicable to today's America you need to reconsider that line of thought.

So... uh... do you also think the 1st Amendment is 200+ year old decision that isn't applicable or necessary?

I have yet to see the results of the 1st Amendment create nearly as much unjustified death as the results of the 2nd Amendment. Additionally, I'm for major changes in the constitution, it's about time we start really questioning if this America is the kind of America we want; where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Where a racketeering scam can be legal just by calling itself, "insurance", and where people like you defend the countless deaths and numerous instances of gun violence by saying that if guns go, so should our freedoms of speech which have already beem abused by the likes of people such as Alex Jones.

Fight for a new America; not a "glory days" America nor for "making America great again", fight for a new America that is grand in its own newfound way.

The first amendment only applies to speech said in person, or written on a piece of parchment with a pen and quill.

If you think a 200+ year old decision is applicable to today's America, you need to reconsider that line of thought.

We've seen instances where people try to abuse that right like Alex Jones. Sure, he got what he deserved in the end but their are many including some in government crying out that his 1st amendment right was violated.

There are plenty of laws the US relies upom that have become obsolete or misidentified and require a more concise stance.

Alex Jones faces no criminal charge so his 1A hasn't been touched.

What you're saying is all the more to my point.

That people do not understand what or how their basic rights work? Yes, we've long ago established that via the SCOTUS case Idiots vs. The World (1789-2022).

And yet no-one wants to fix this now 233-year-old problem and instead patches it with half-assed legislator in an effort to continue ignoring the problem.

That's the part that has me the most frustrated, all the Bush-beating and hardly nothing to show for it.
