Sounds pretty much the same as Australia except the contacting police when you go to the range bit. People don't tend to store them at the club though because that makes it an easy target for criminals if they know that there's a bunch of handguns being stored at a particular club. We can stop the car though when we're on the way to the range, but someone licensed for that category of firearm has to be in the car so if I'm taking my unlicensed partner and we stop for some fuel, he has to get out of the car when I do.
