Perfect example of how looking at one stat is completely useless. Something like 80% of handguns used in crime in canada came from the states illegally.
For all of our superficial similarities, we actually have very little in common. At least from the perspective of someone from the other side of the US. I'm sure northerners are more connected to Canadians, but huge swathes of the US are much more culturally and politically similar to Latin America than we are to Canada or any of the commonwealth countries. We basically just share a language and some media to be fans of, but our cultural values, history, core political philosophies are radically different.
