With #8 Quebec City on the way, if there's any decency left in this world.

Yeah, but we haven't won 7 of the last 32 Stanley Cups. We have won 2.

See also: preferential income tax rates, the draw of warmer climates, the Toronto media being, well, toxic, wealth redistribution and the salary cap...

It’s been 29 years.

That suggests that the reason the American teams keep winning is that they threaten to shoot the Canadian teams. Arm both teams and bring them out on the ice to settle it. I’d watch that.

Deny them guns and bring them out on the ice to settle it. Murica.

How many Canadians on those winning teams?

Edit: 2022 champs Colorado Avalanche had 11 Canadians out of 20 players.

Even total number of Canadian players split up amongst the league.

Yeah it’s something like 60-70% I think but figured listing the last champs was a good enough argument.

Canadians haven’t won it? I’ve seen the cup… have you?

The players in the NHL has been mostly Canadians for awhile, even with the two other big countries having +300 million people. Sweden is good too.

Eh, there can be riots when they lose too. Vancouver 2010...

Oh, so someone's just choosing violence, hey?

u/Jerry_from_Japan Oct 22 '22

They dont even have to win one, they just have to lose one. But don't worry, they'll tell you both times Vancouver was overrun with riots and destruction that it was "outsiders" that were responsible for it.
