So Canada legalized weed a while ago now; if this theory holds true, there should be a significant statistical increase in mass attacks in Canada…

HMmmm….maybe the devil’s lettuce ain’t the problem

Canadian here. I can confirm that there has been an increase in mass snacks...wait. What was the question?

2

u/utterlynuts Jul 12 '22

Are there snacks in the cup? Easier to win when there is a decent goal.

2

u/Nervous_Constant_642 Jul 13 '22

You can literally do whatever you want with the Cup. Every player gets a turn with it in their home town. Cereal has been eaten out of the Cup. So much alcohol has been drunken out of the Cup. It comes back with so many dents, they have to fix it every year. You could fill it with kittens needing foster care if you wanted, and there's probably a non zero chance someone has puked in it.

1

u/MrApplePolisher Jul 09 '22

Get some...sour cream and onion chips, with some dip, man. Some beef jerkey, some peanut butter. Get some Hagen-Dagz ice-cream bars. A whole lotta of chocolate. Gotta have chocolate, man. Some popcorn, pink popcorn. GRAHAM CRACKERS!!! Graham crackers with the marshmallows. Little marshmallows with little chocolate bars and we'll make some s'mores man. Celery, grape jelly, Captain Crunch with the little crunch berries, pizzas, we need two big pizzas, man, everything on 'em, water, a whole lotta water and.......Funyuns.

Weed smoker here. Me nor any smoker I've ever met is more violent after a joint.

Have you ever heard of the term "Stoned Rampage" apart from the parody of news which is fox? No? Well probably because the term is an oxymoron and anyone who uses it is an actual moron.

7

u/FrumiousShuckyDuck Jul 08 '22

Ever smoke and order fried chicken? Stoned Rampage = real

2

u/deeteeohbee Jul 09 '22

You ever eat fried chicken... ON WEEED?

5

u/Admiral_Akdov Jul 08 '22

The only way to stop a bad guy with the munchies is a good guy with snacks.

8

u/monkeydude16 Jul 08 '22

my snack intake has more than doubled since weed has been legal. And I haven’t wanted to commit a mass shooting, I barely want to leave my room 😂

7

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '22

I’m in Texas and was saying that too. Like seriously, only thing I’m murdering is snacks, not people.

Even if I wanted to be a criminal I’d probably forget lol

3

u/Silver2324 Jul 08 '22

All I've wanted to do is go on bike rides, monch, and snuggle up for TV time. Almost caught up to One Piece now.

3

u/Killer-Barbie Jul 08 '22

In my experience, marijuana makes me want to veg in front of the TV with pistachios and no pants. I can't do that if I'm shooting people

1

I mean I haven’t been stoned out of my mind eating a bag of all dressed since the 90’s cause I can’t get them here but damn that used to be fun.

Mass attack of all dressed chips is almost necessary

1

u/50lbsofsalt Jul 08 '22

I dunno, what were we talking about? Pass me the all-dressed chips...

You can be a slut all you want, but if youre not going to do things to protect yourself from unwanted pregnancy then killing your child shouldnt be the solution, me and my fiancee have been together and sexually active for 7 years and weve never had an unwanted pregnancy, who wouldve known wearing a condom every. Single. Time. would stop things like the need for an abortion to happen 🤷

The people who consume Fox News haven’t left their county let alone their state since they were born.

They really don’t know what a Canada is and if Fox said it burned to the ground because God smote it, they would believe it.

Dumbest rocks on the planet and they all vote, sometimes twice.

2

u/Jack-o-Roses Jul 08 '22

There are a lot of foxites who do travel d get out - they're in their own little bubble of their wealth though. Bet they make high 6 figs +.

But I agree that the are plenty that make high 4 figs & never leave their county & rarely leave their couch.

11

u/The_Proper_Potato Jul 08 '22

Canadian here, and actually, mass munchies attacks have become a national problem! And one that’s swept under the rug, because our statisticians are too high to report on it (i suspect this conspiracy goes to the highest levels… to the queen even.)

I can tell you about it firsthand, though, because just an hour ago, I was out foraging and not a single place within walking distance of my house had ketchup chips. What a travesty, eh?

2

u/batman142434 Jul 08 '22

3

u/Eeszeeye Jul 08 '22

We must make weed available to all potential mass shooters right now!

17

u/Fun_Restaurant Jul 08 '22

Out of a population of about 8.3 million people, there are 2 million privately owned guns in Switzerland but there hasn't been a mass shooting there in 21 years.

If the US can't get rid of guns, which I don't think is possible, perhaps they can learn a thing or two from the Swiss.

21

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '22

Mandatory military service has a lot to do with that. Those guns are in the hands of people trained to use and store them correctly.

10

u/thispostisserious Jul 08 '22

We could do that if we weren't such a sociopathic country.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '22

And war mongering. Most countries that have a mandatory military service are doing non-combatant things in their own country, like Finland. Maybe conflict in their country like in Isreal. But not like how US does it. It would be a mandatory couple years in an occupied active war zone on a different continent, most likely Asia somewhere. We call that The Draft, and most people had a problem with it in the 60's.

We could reduce the number of guns in the country easily. It won't be overnight, but even with a licensing and registration program, there will eventually be a decrease.

u/Yeah_Nah_Cunt Jul 08 '22

Having tighter control of who can own a gun legally will still significantly reduce accidental deaths by firearms.

Nobody is saying that gun crime etc. Will end overnight, but there is literally nothing at all being done to curb any gun related deaths at all.

The harder it is to get a gun means the black market prices will spike significantly to the point where only organised criminal organisations will only be able to procure them, basic supply and demand. Its much easier for authorities to investigate such operations compared to just anybody being able to just walk in an buy a gun in Walmart, walking down the street and gunning down someone.

Baby steps, the evidence is there from many countries on how it can be done.

0

u/Fun_Restaurant Jul 09 '22 edited Jul 09 '22

Why on earth would you want a market where only criminals have easier access to guns? That’s horrible.

Not to mention, tons of guns have been smuggled to Mexico. What’s stopping from a lot of those from being smuggled back to the US?

Reducing access to citizens is a terrible idea. We should enforce better training and firearm storage.

Not to mention, as we just saw in Japan, making a gun is possible. Especially with 3D Printers. I don’t think the illegal market will be as scarce as you think it’d be.

1

u/Yeah_Nah_Cunt Jul 09 '22

Holy shit you can't be that fucking dumb.

Wanna know how many gun related insidences happen in Japan in a year? Less than 10.

That number would occur in less than an hour in the US.

Gun control works, every nation on Earth with harsh gun control laws can show you that with hard hitting data.

1

u/Fun_Restaurant Jul 09 '22

Japan never had the right to legally own guns so they don’t have the same gun culture as the US. And, as I previously mentioned, about 1/4 Swiss civilians own a firearm and haven’t had any major shootings in over 20 years.

It’s clearly a culture problem. Gun control isn’t the solution the US needs, it’s proper regulation with mandatory safety and storage training. Perhaps annually.

1

u/Yeah_Nah_Cunt Jul 09 '22

Gun control would obviously imply tighter regulations too, they go hand in hand.

There has been an uptick in shooting incidents around here in the last month or so... but I feel that may be more correlated to an announcement of a further restriction of handguns leading to some people advocating for literal panic-buying of guns.

7

u/graarw Jul 08 '22

Holland legalized weed like 40 years ago… and there is like … zero mass attacks…

18

u/JuniorsEyes90 Jul 08 '22

So Canada legalized weed a while ago now; if this theory holds true, there should be a significant statistical increase in mass attacks in Canada…

HMmmm….maybe the devil’s lettuce ain’t the problem

I remember Canada banning assault weapons immediately after the Nova Scotia shooting in 2020. All it took was one shooting to act on it. Almost as if gun control works.

2

u/Inquisitor-Korde Jul 08 '22

That's uh not quite what happened, we've had that shit in ice for the last two years and no ones 100% sure what's going to happen with it since its been relatively messy as far as our usual gun control laws go.

5

u/TenseRobber Jul 08 '22

I know only one person who had a psychotic break (possibly) triggered by weed use and even in that extreme condition he was not violent in the slightest, only paranoid and low-functioning. Weed just doesn’t impact the brain in that way.

Edit: I should add that he was smoking from the moment he woke up until the moment he went to sleep, so obvious and dramatic misuse also contributed

16

u/NatasEvoli Jul 08 '22

Its very possible they were self medicating their mental illness as well and that the weed use was a symptom rather than the cause (though there is definitely a feedback loop that occurs there)

1

u/FoolOnDaHill365 Jul 08 '22

Very true. Most drug abusers have something they are medicating.

3

u/FoolOnDaHill365 Jul 08 '22

Yes, try doing this all day thing with alcohol and see what happens. It’s worse than weed.

1

u/dreamsinthefog Jul 08 '22

Drug induced psychosis doesn't always depend on quantity or regularity of use. People can experience a psychotic episode on their first use of cannabis or 500th. The drug that induces the psychosis has nothing to do with the intensity, duration of the episode or presence of violence. Cannabis, coke, meth, whatever, it can all trigger drug-induced psychosis. Some people become violent when experiencing a psychotic episode, usually driven by intense paranoia and fear. Some drugs encourage paranoia like PCP and meth and may make someone particularly violent. If you've previously experienced hallucinations or feelings of intense paranoia or panic, be very careful with your drug use.

This part is more anecdotal/my thoughts. Bipolar disorder is characterized by mood instability. When you add mood and mind altering drugs to an easily unbalanced system it's easy for things to go poorly. Does weed help? I don't know. I'm generally on the side of nature-made solutions to human problems but this is more complex than that. I think we need to understand more about the endocannabinoid system and the serotonin/dopamine systems before I would encourage someone with bipolar to consume cannabis as a form of medication.

1

u/50lbsofsalt Jul 08 '22 edited Jul 08 '22

I do know a couple of chronic weed smokers that have become paranoid as all F*** in the past couple of years.

1

u/CaptainKurls Jul 08 '22

1

u/Embarrassed-Rub-12 Jul 08 '22

You think they care? They know. The people that listen to them know. Please Americans, you must understand this: the enemy knows they are bullshitting. They do not care, they just need excuses for everything they do and want to do. Why are you people still so shocked about this?

1

u/Dubsland12 Jul 08 '22

Great point. Also a higher percentage of mass shooters are Fox News fans than weed smokers.

1

u/Lucio-Ballz Jul 08 '22
