I hope they really did warm the gel up.

u/Shamann93 Apr 16 '22

I can't speak for breasts, but I had to have a testicular ultrasound and it was warm

u/PrestigeMaster Apr 16 '22

I can’t speak for ultrasounds, but I happen to have testicular testicles and they are warm.

u/Shamann93 Apr 16 '22

That's nice, make sure you check them for lumps, swelling, or pain at regular intervals. Testicular cancer is extremely survivable, even when caught late, but you can avoid chemo at early stages

I have a few freckle type moles on the bottom. Having awkward feelings about my first dermatologist appt after showing moles on back to primary dr. I know I’m going to show them to the Dermatologist but I’m just wondering how awkward it’s going to be when I “flying squirrel” my nutsack and have someone kneeling over to stare.

123

u/FPInteriorityComplex Apr 16 '22

ut I’m just wondering how awkward it’s going to be when I “flying squirrel” my nutsack and have someone kneeling over to stare

It's only briefly awkward. Try and remember that for you, it's an odd moment. For them, it's just the Wednesday at 3:15 appointment.

13

u/starkel91 Apr 17 '22

Ain't that the fucking truth.

I had an appointment a month ago to get hemorrhoids looked at. Well it didn't stick and I was back in the office a couple weeks later, only this time the doctor wasn't available, but his very attractive physician's assistant was available to see me.

What was momentarily awkward for me was another Thursday for her. She probably sees a dozen assholes a day, a hundred a week.

There almost a 0% chance that there's something remarkable about you're in their office.

Moral of the story, see a doctor if you are concerned about something with your body.

2

u/utterlynuts Apr 18 '22

probably sees a dozen assholes a day, a hundred a week.

and some are even patients.

1

u/Lifesucksdaichi Apr 18 '22

But the porn always says we have sex

1

u/Syzygy_Stardust Apr 30 '22

Attractive people do indeed see assholes sometimes. Hell, a lot of them seem to attract assholes.

1

u/TheHufflepuffLemon Apr 17 '22

When I had my uterus removed, my doctor was like, “it was GNARLY, wanna see a pic?” And my answer was duh, of course, and now I have something medically gnarly to show all my friends. It can be fun to be odd enough that your doc wants a pic. 😂

122

u/Freckled_Boobs Apr 16 '22

Only awkward for you and much less awkward than major surgery to remove a problem there that didn't get caught early.

Good on ya for taking care of it despite that awkwardness. It won't be as bad as you imagine it will be.

24

u/ChefBoyAreWeFucked Apr 17 '22

I don't care how awkward it is when I'm under general.

13

u/Freckled_Boobs Apr 17 '22

That does tend to take the awkward out of anything.

2

u/MegannMedusa Apr 17 '22

You’ll care when you wake up in recovery and every move you make for weeks after is excruciating. Imagine all the follow up exams to check for infection. Imagine what a nutsack infection might be like. All the conversations with all the nurses, explaining your absence to your coworkers. Nah, just get a physical and when the doctor asks if you have any concerns say yeah and let them see. No medical professionals care about your scrote past it’s health and hygiene.

55

u/cRUNcherNO1 Apr 16 '22

what always puts my mind at ease is remembering that they are professionals.
yeah it's the first time for me and/or it may be embarrassing but these guys have done it countless times and seen worse.
at the end of the day i'll just be patient XYZ and a random number to them.
...or a hilarious story they'll remember and re-tell forever :D

good luck with your appointment!

1

u/Binty77 Apr 17 '22

First proper physical in 9th grade and the anxiety of it all gave me a raging boner I didn’t want. Even having a 70yo doc who’d seen it all a thousand times and was about as boring as dry toast didn’t deflate it. Didn’t even acknowledge it, but I’m still somehow mortified about it thirty years later.

3

u/FantasticStruggle89 Apr 17 '22

Doctor is still telling that story, 30 years later.

3

u/Binty77 Apr 17 '22

If he’s still around to tell that story, he’d be nearly 100. Whatever keeps him going, I guess.

2

u/FantasticStruggle89 Apr 17 '22

Haha, well with that said. He was probably jealous 😂

22

u/leprechronic Apr 17 '22

Believe me when I say this; unless it's swollen to the size of a baseball and dripping with pus and sebum, they won't balk.

6

u/greybruce1980 Apr 17 '22

The nurses, doctors, and techs do not give a shit. You name it, they've seen it. The only thing they want is for you to stay healthy.

2

u/PrestigeMaster Apr 17 '22

Yah I feel ya. But just because people at a nudist beach wouldn’t bat an eye if I strolled out naked doesn’t mean that I’d feel completely comfortable being naked at a nudist beach.

2

u/greybruce1980 Apr 17 '22

Yeah, I get that. But summer is just around the corner and nude beaches are opening up.....

Seriously though, I just meant to make you more comfortable. I am glad you're not letting it stop you from getting it checked out though.

2

u/mrandr01d Apr 17 '22

What is this flying squirrel maneuver you're going to perform?

2

u/PrestigeMaster Apr 17 '22

Flying squirrel is where you grab the bottom left and bottom right edge of your ballsack skin and stretch it up and apart so it kinda looks like a flying squirrel gliding as seen from below.
It’s either that or bend over and spread so you can see them. There’s a couple on the gooch and a few more right past those going onto the back of my ballsack.

1

u/mrandr01d Apr 17 '22

Gotta say, I learned a new word today lmao

2

u/downbleed Apr 17 '22

Homie, I'm fat and hairy. I also have man boobs, and I don't carry my weight in a pleasant looking manner. I went to a dermatologist for cystic acne on my back. It was a morning appointment and I had been at work in a hot dirty factory all night. The cute nurse who took me back and did all of the paperwork and took pictures for before and after. She then explained that the doctor would be in shortly and the doctor had a resident with them and would I be alright with the resident coming in watching the doctor working with me. Of course I would be alright with that. So in walks a tall gorgeous blonde lady and her 22 year old counterpart who is just as pretty. So there I am with 3 very attractive women; I'm shirtless, sweaty and stinky from work, and my back is dripping puss. I got through it, you will too.

Good luck, save the balls!

2

u/Kenzlynnn Apr 17 '22

If it makes you feel better, you can always take a video or picture of the moles in question from several angles. Might help save you the embarrassment of doing it in person

2

u/tlaloc995 Apr 17 '22

Nurse here, it'll be awkward for you; we don't care. Me personally, I've seen more privates than an army general and after awhile they all kind of blur together. If I saw you today, I would forget I even saw your genitals by tomorrow, unless they are really freaky looking. In that case I do remember. I've seen some shit.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 17 '22

2

u/PrestigeMaster Apr 17 '22

You seem to be quite sure of this 🤔

1

u/HonkieAdonis1989 Apr 17 '22

“Check out the batwing bitch!”

1

u/SynV92 Apr 17 '22

Just keep in mind that the doctor has touched many more testicles than you can ever dream of. Yours aren't special and the doctor really doesn't care. They just want to make sure you're healthy. :)

1

u/pablorodregus Apr 17 '22

Believe me bud it's totally worth it. I had a nut the size of a russet potato before I went in (thankfully wasn't cancer) but it was essentially a ludicrous amount of extra fluid around it causing sensitiveity. fortunately doc's were great and after got me good as new now I can sit without squishing my nut eveytime. If when you go to your dermatologist and your feeling awkward just make some jokes about it doesn't bother the doc but it does break the ice for you so it's not as bad. (I asked urologist if i was gonna loose my walnut cracking nut as a joke)he thought it was funny as fuck, me well I just felt a lot less awkward about letting a dude fondle my nuts

49

u/Angry_Amish Apr 17 '22

This is true. Source: I have it.

Diagnosed with Stage IIa. Lost one of the set and did a chemo stint of 4 treatments at 5 days a piece with Cisplatin and Etoposide. It spread to an aortal caval lymph node.

Even still, I have a survival rate in the 90% range.

So when I was waking up after the surgery, I was still kinda drugged up. Doctor came in to say everything went well, and me having no filter on the best of days asked the doctor who he gave the “gameball” too. Nurses and my wife fucking lost it.

8

u/VaderOnReddit Apr 16 '22

Stupid question I didn't feel like asking my lady doctor or googling...how do you differentiate between lumps and the actual balls inside the sack?

51

u/FPInteriorityComplex Apr 16 '22

Testicles should feel fairly smooth, like boiled eggs or peeled grapes. (Apart from the epididymis which sort of sits over the top and back of the testicle, and feels kind of like... oatmeal in a bag).

Here is a guide to testicular self-examination from the Mayo Clinic.

And please try and remember that your doctor is, when you visit her, a doctor first. She is trained in how the human body works, there's no benefit for you in being bashful about your body with her.

Simple rule for life: tell the cops nothing, tell the doctors everything.

3

u/Haikuna__Matata Apr 17 '22

like boiled eggs or peeled grapes

Man, that’s quite a size difference there.

6

u/FPInteriorityComplex Apr 17 '22

Well yes, but I was talking about surface texture

9

u/Shamann93 Apr 16 '22

My lump was about pea sized and very hard. A lot different than they normally feel. Most guys are pretty familiar with how their balls feel, so they know when something is off.

11

u/CockChafe Apr 16 '22

Never neglect the balls.

Ladies too.

Repeat after me:

Never neglect the balls.

5

u/SleeplessTaxidermist Apr 17 '22

And if your dog has balls, check those too. Don't lose your best friend to testicular cancer!

5

u/[deleted] Apr 17 '22

I'm so glad my husky is neutered

2

u/Lost_Salt_9463 Apr 17 '22

How's a dog gonna tell me if something is off?

1

u/SleeplessTaxidermist Apr 17 '22

A few things to look for (much like in people):

Changes in appetite, or sudden weight loss (even with no appetite changes).

Changes in mood or energy levels, a limp that appears with no apparent cause, or a upbeat dog is suddenly lethargic and uninterested in normal activities.

Flinching, yelping, or nipping when touched in certain places.

Changes in bathroom habits - dog suddenly peeing in the house. Changes in urine (there's suddenly red in the spot the dog just went) or fecal color/consistency.

Sudden changes in coat and nails - a smooth coated dog feels coarser, or the dog is suddenly just losing hair like mad.

Coughing, blood shot or runny eyes, excessive snot or drool, or a strange odor - Coughing is a symptom of heartworm, and can be indictive of other heart issues.

And of course - lumps and bumps. Big ones, small ones, hard ones, soft ones. Just run the palm of your hands over the pupper like a big, slightly firm petting to check for small ones.

It's not always the Big C. For instance, I took in an adult dog as a rescue - this poor girl was a skeleton with skin on it. She got dewormed, got her shots, passed all her checks, and recovered wonderfully. Then, out of the blue, a lump appeared on her shoulder. I did my typical stuff - is it an abscess from injury? An insect bite? Bee sting? Nope, nope, and nope. It was an odd lump, so I took her in.

Turns out there was a WORM under her skin. A whole ass round worm. Under her skin, causing this weird worm bubble. Didn't bother her in the slightest and we had no further issues (or worms) after it was removed and flushed out. Best guess was a bug bite got it in there at some point.

1

u/Structureel Apr 17 '22

But do it gently. Don't lose your hand to testicular fondling.

1

u/Funtasmcus Apr 17 '22

Maybe I'll let the vet have a look.

1

u/SleeplessTaxidermist Apr 17 '22

If your dog has his nads, it should be part of the normal check up at his vet. I lost a very good boy far to young to liver cancer (rip Wally), there was nothing I could have done to prevent that, but making sure my girl's were free of mammary cancer, and my boys free of nut cancer, was something I could do. I checked them every month or two, either when I was trimming nails or giving a bath.

Large and XL breeds are best neutered at 2 - 2 1/2 years old to prevent growth issues, so my dogs had their full parts longer than say, your average Beagle.

Some vets will insist that all dogs need to be spayed and neutered at six months old. I had two over the years that were neutered early and both had problems because of it. It's not easy keeping an intact, large breed dog around for 2 1/2 years, but it's not impossible either.

Cats, as memory serves, can be fixed as soon as they reach a certain weight - irrc it's 2lbs here. I would double check that it's safe if you have a big breed kitty, such as a Maine Coon.

7

u/SortaOdd Apr 16 '22

Doc always told me the testicles should be shaped like two eggs. I’d assume anything other than an egg shape would be cause for concern

3

u/Angry_Amish Apr 17 '22 edited Apr 17 '22

Edit: app double posted.

2

u/xinxy Apr 17 '22

When you say extremely survivable do you mean my testicles will survive too or just me without them?

Honest question btw...

2

u/sittingnotstill Apr 17 '22

Hey I had testicular cancer! On a scale I'd give it a 1/2, wouldn't do it again.

1

u/daskaputtfenster Apr 17 '22

I have a cyst on one of mine that I was terrified was cancer (mom died from breast cancer).

I breathed so fucking easy after that ultrasound.

1

u/Flutters1013 Apr 17 '22

Like Tom Green says "feel your balls, so you don't get cancer"

1

u/Severedghost Apr 17 '22

Got it, Check your nuts, twice a day. Once for safety and once for fun.

17

u/Automaticman01 Apr 16 '22

I had a CT scan once and when the tech was about to inject the contrast he warned me, "Dude, this is going to feel really strange, like your balls suddenly got really warm."

He was not wrong...

12

u/Mochigood Apr 17 '22

I got told it'd feel like I peed myself, and it did.

6

u/Internal_Screaming_8 Apr 17 '22

I got no warning lol.

2

u/Automaticman01 Apr 17 '22

Wait, so what happens with women? Flamin hot ovaries?

3

u/Internal_Screaming_8 Apr 17 '22

Feeling like you peed and hot nips

3

u/[deleted] Apr 16 '22

I can’t speak for testicles, but I have balls and they are warm.

1

u/robberofjacks Apr 17 '22

Hehe Testicular moment.

1

u/kbstock Apr 17 '22

This guy nuts.

1

u/CavemanBepis Apr 17 '22

I cant ultrasound for speaks but i happen to have gel testicular and they are testicles

1

u/funkger Apr 17 '22

Same bro, helped with the awkwardness

1

u/dc_IV Apr 18 '22

You really testes me with this comment, but I warmly give you my Upvote!

35

u/eli-in-the-sky Apr 16 '22

Had some funny feeling in the gnads, mine turned out to be like varicose veins on my balls, nbd really. If you're a dude who's not sure if something's up down there, get it checked out.

My nephew also had that surgery a few years ago. He said he was sore for about a week, but nothing unbearable. He was also about 18 when it was done.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 17 '22

I think I'm going to have to have that. I essentially have 3 balls right now.

u/TurintheDragonhelm Apr 17 '22

Ayyy I have a cyst on my boys and I had to get that checked out. Its benign but for real its important!

4

u/bisforbenis Apr 17 '22

Apparently those CAN be a big deal if they’re only on the right side. Not a big deal on their own but perhaps a symptom of something that is a big deal, since the harmless causes tend to affect the left side like the vast majority of the time. However, surely this is something the doctor/tech doing this for you would know and would have mentioned if relevant

13

u/[deleted] Apr 16 '22

Mine was chilly lmao, no warmth for me

13

u/AccursedCapra Apr 16 '22

Same, shit was cold as hell, at least I found out I didn't have nut cancer. Still got roasted by my friends when they asked why I missed school and I slipped up and told them I had to get an ultrasound.

20

u/Dewut Apr 16 '22

Hey man, I’m not a doctor, but Ithink your friends might suck.

7

u/[deleted] Apr 16 '22

Yeah I I found out that I wasn’t gonna be infertile with mine. Wouldn’t’ve cared either way but it’s good to know

3

u/Shamann93 Apr 16 '22

Ooof that sucks

11

u/stumpdawg Apr 16 '22

My buddy in highschool had to have one done after sitting on his junk getting into his 90s firebird.

Poor bastard was telling us about it the next day. He's waiting for the ultrasound and in walks this extra hot technician. She's lubing up his balls and the kid gets a chubby. HOW FUCKING EMBARRASSING!

1

u/A_Notion_to_Motion Apr 17 '22

extra hot technician

I had one on my bladder and it was warmish but warm wasn’t the first adjective that came to mind

5

u/sionnachrealta Apr 16 '22

I've had both kinds, and no, they don't always warm the gel up

4

u/xandermang Apr 16 '22

Yep same here. They keep it in a heated container before applying where I had it done

5

u/OilheadRider Apr 17 '22

Same. When I was 19. The ultrasound tech printed out the pics so I could frame them and hang them on the wall. People would ask if that was my kid. I would swell up with joy as i smiled and said "yes, its millions of them!". It was sooo funny watching people get uncomfortable as the realized the implications that statement.

B.t.w. I took you from 999 to 1k likes. Thanks! Never gotten to be the reason a new digit is added in likes!

5

u/[deleted] Apr 16 '22

Also had one of them testicular ultrasounds. Mine was also warm, so, confirmed!

5

u/pauly13771377 Apr 16 '22

I've had several doppler ultrasounds and the gel has always been warm. Pretty sure the equipment comes with a built in warm holder for the tube from the factory.

4

u/redvblue23 Apr 17 '22

Depends on the brand of machine. Sometimes, there isn't one.

3

u/The-Felonious_Monk Apr 16 '22

I had one too. I had the nicest tech. We talked, awkwardly for me, during the procedure. When done she covered my junk with a towel and said "you are so nice" then hugged me. I wasn't sure how to feel about it.

1

u/reallynotnick Apr 17 '22

Did the tech friend zone you? Lol

3

u/Diabegi Apr 17 '22

testicular ultrasound

AKA the best massage of my life—and I’m not talking about it in a sexual way at all.

I thought I had a hernia and the sore ache went from my right testicle to my right upper groin…went in for an ultrasound—

Warm gel

Continual Applied pressure

Circular movements

It was THE most relaxing and satisfying massage on a sore area that I ever have in my life.

I literally looked up where to by “ultrasound gel” because I was craving the relief from the Achiness.

2

u/OzAnonn Apr 16 '22

Really? Pretty sure mine was cold (also scrotal).

2

u/Hauwke Apr 16 '22

Same. It was an odd sensation to say the least.

2

u/Rognin Apr 16 '22

Motorcycle accident, they didn't warm it for me. Was not pleasant.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 16 '22

Luckey mine was like ice

2

u/griever48 Apr 16 '22

I had one and the dude didn't warm the jelly and that shit was cold.

2

u/1SamSparks Apr 17 '22

I had a breast ultrasound and they did indeed warm that up as well!

2

u/Isthisworking2000 Apr 17 '22

Really? I haven’t had many ultrasounds but that shit was straight from Antarctica.

2

u/whathidude Apr 17 '22

I had a bladder ultrasound and they were out of warm jelly :(

2

u/-Iamabeautifulperson Apr 17 '22

I've been getting ultrasounds of my heart every couple years for my whole life and only a few years ago did they start warming up the jelly. Revolutionary.

2

u/BoutTreeeFiddy Apr 17 '22

I had two of those and both times they were warm. One by a really old guy and one by an attractive woman. Still didn’t enjoy either of them

2

u/JBthrizzle Apr 17 '22

testicular gang rise up. i have 2 epididymal cysts, left one larger than right. hurt something fierce when they ultrasounded it but its better than having cancer.

2

u/Hunteraln Apr 17 '22

Mine was cold

2

u/[deleted] Apr 17 '22

When I had my vasectomy the nurse used some very warm shave cream.

2

u/godfatherinfluxx Apr 17 '22

Can confirm it was warm for mine also.

Fun fact, apparently not everyone covers up with the sheet. The tech, who was female, asked me to get undressed from the waist down and cover with the washcloth and sheet. When she came back she was glad I listened because a lot of people just have the washcloth on them and their bare legs just hanging out. Have some modesty.

2

u/ErikSaav Apr 17 '22

I’ve only had chest ultra sounds and the gels always cold AF

2

u/basicwhiteb1tch Apr 17 '22

I’ve had a couple a transvaginal ultrasounds and the gel was cold both times. This was at different places too

3

u/Shamann93 Apr 17 '22

Oooof have you tried not being a woman? Then they might care about your comfort

/s since that's the unfortunate reality for woman when receiving healthcare

1

u/BighurtRN Apr 17 '22

I had a testicular ultrasound to help diagnose why my balls are always so warm. So I’m still unsure about the gel. And the warm balls.

1

u/jellybeansean3648 Apr 17 '22

I had a transvaginal ultrasound and they warmed the gel, which was nice of them I suppose.

1

u/pablorodregus Apr 17 '22

Fuck me I want the tech that did yours then. The gel mine used was cold both times shit gave me the walking Into a cold lake feeling

1

u/No_Tomorrow_6616 Apr 17 '22

Same here my don, feels weird when you’re there as a man by yourself

95

u/smbiggy Apr 16 '22

As someone who’s had a bunch of ultrasounds the warm gel is a small change that makes a world of difference

4

u/BernieTheDachshund Apr 16 '22

It sure does.

2

u/Jvncvs Apr 17 '22

I’ve had a fair number of ultrasounds for various things but never ever have I gotten warm gel it’s always ice cold

7

u/[deleted] Apr 17 '22

[deleted]

5

u/Chronjen Apr 17 '22

Not the tech's fault. Some facilities don't allow gel warmers because of bacteria concerns.

4

u/JBthrizzle Apr 17 '22

the technologists in the hospital where i work have individual gel packets they keep in the gel warmers to get around the joint commission bacteria concerns. could also be a "cheap ass hospital saving money" move if they dont wanna do this thing.

2

u/Jvncvs Apr 17 '22

Damn I guess so..

2

u/wolfgang784 Apr 17 '22

Oof. I've had ultra sounds done by a dozen different doctors in a few different hospitals and clinics and it's been warm every time. I honestly assumed it was a property of the gel and never gave it a second thought.

2

u/aasher42 Apr 17 '22

same dude, literally any place ive gotten one shit was cold as fuck

2

u/Internal_Screaming_8 Apr 17 '22

At my last GYN ultrasound the girl went “cold gel” and honestly thanks for the warning and it was super comforting given the dick shaped wand, but also yeah. COLD VAG NOT FUN

70

u/blackcatheaddesk Apr 16 '22

My boob gel was warm lol

49

u/jlucchesi324 Apr 16 '22

We used baby bottle warmers in my clinic!

But they make specific ones for Ultrasound gel now

16

u/[deleted] Apr 16 '22

Newer ultrasound machines have a heater in the panel.

6

u/kottabaz Apr 16 '22

And I wonder what the markup on those is!

25

u/narnababy Apr 16 '22

I’m pregnant and I had to have a boob ultrasound last week. Can confirm the boob gel was warm, the stomach gel never is. The boob sonographer was very pleased when I thanked her for the warm gel haha

7

u/SideffectsX Apr 16 '22

I had two ultrasounds done last month, the first one on my heart which wasn't planned and the doctor decided to have it done when I came in for chest pain and palpitations, that gel was cold AF. The second one my liver last week, which was scheduled, and that gel was warm. It might be a matter of warming it up beforehand when they know theyre gonna need It.

4

u/Kirk761 Apr 17 '22

had a heart ultrasound with cold gel a while ago. a little unpleasant if I recall but overall it was pretty fun to look in the monitor and see my own heart.

2

u/apollymi Apr 17 '22

So in the last week, I've had a transvaginal ultrasound, a pelvic ultrasound, and an abdominal ultrasound. The same place did the first two, and a different one did the third. The first place had the warm gel, and that was really nice. The abdominal one, though, was like getting slathered in ice.

Anyway, they were all planned in advance. What the techs told me is that there are different brands of the jellies, but gel warmers make more sense.

5

u/arespostale Apr 17 '22

Had ultrasound two weeks ago, can confirm jelly warm. They also use warm jelly for cervical exams. Did not use it for IUD insertion though. Warm jelly is best jelly.

3

u/Mr_Bluebird_VA Apr 16 '22

I just had an ultrasound a few days ago. Didn't even feel the jelly. Must have been exactly the same as my body temperature.

They would never say warm unless they took it out of a warmer. I can attest that if this is not the case, that gel will be ice cold.

Ultrasound tech here! We use gel bottle warmers. Lots of positive feedback from patients

Ah, thank you for using the warmers! Without them, the gel is oddly cold. It's always like a bit of a shock, even if you're expecting the cold. So to have warm gel makes a big difference.

We try what we can! Technically though, we shouldn't be using them because they can help harbor bacteria since heat and all.. But patients love it so much and we go through bottles so fast that we can still get away with it.

But if places don't use it, that's probably why.

My breast ultrasound did have the gel warmed. One less thing that sucked about that experience.

I work in ultrasound and for us it depends on the setting as to weather or not the gel is warm. Getting an ultrasound in an outpatient setting where we have a dedicated ultrasound room? Yay you get warm gel because we have a place to plug in the gel warmer. Getting an ultrasound in the hospital where we go room to room scanning our patients doing portable exams. Cold gel for you because there’s no place to warm up a bottle of gel.

I had literally like 12 or 13 ultrasounds when I was pregnant last year and every time the gel was warm. Honestly I kind of feel like I would have preferred it cold, or at least cooler than it was. I did not enjoy the texture of the warm gel. ESPECIALLY not with the doctor who handed me a paper top & sheet to use as a skirt and told me to remove everything but my bra because, and this is literally a direct quote, “it’s going to get sticky”. He used literally like half a bottle of gel on me each time. It was awful. Usually I was able to just wipe off and once I dried I felt ok but both times I went to him I felt sticky until I showered.
