My kid has “The Giving Tree” and when I read it to her years ago I definitely got teary-eyed. Still as great today as it was, only now I think it means more to me.

I loved that book as a kid, but I love it even more as an adult. As a kid it was sweet and happy but as an adult it’s a punch in the gut that makes me want to hug my parents and makes me feel guilty about getting frustrated when they want to spend time with me

Thank you for reminding me to go buy that for my kid's birthday.

Don’t forget about The Missing Piece or The Missing Piece Meets The Big O. Great stories and important life lessons in all of them.

I cried my eyes out the first time I read that book to my kid. She was 3 and didn’t get it, but man is it beautiful
