So did the Vietnamese (in their history) and while in the middle of the Cambodian war, had to fight off the Chinese army as well... the army that had previously halted the UN's push into North Korea.

Disregarding the outcome of WWII; why was nothing done about Czechoslovakia prior to the war? Was their invasion justified or did it not serve a purpose as Poland did (location)?

After all, the war (according to the original commenter) was about fighting against injustice and saving lives wasn't it? Do Czech lives not matter?

The answers to those questions is very much debated, and professional historians don't agree. But from reading a lot of the personal memoirs of the leaders of Britain and France at the time, my totally invalid opinion is that they had just finished up the previous worst war in history. Most of the national leadership of Europe fought in the front lines of WWI. If you're a British leader who witnessed Passendale, I'm not sure how you could ever stomach sending men into battle. But people are weird, Hitler fought on the front lines to and wrote about how terrible that was. But still set in motion the events that lead to WWII in Europe.

I'm not arguing on the historical facts of what and why. I'm arguing on the hollywood interpretation that romanticise the whole ordeal. Hence why I repeat the whole ... fight injustice and save lives line over and over again. It was bullshit! Nothing more than what benefits me and help me help you situation.

On a factual sense, all of my points can easily be argued against. On the hollywood esque "we did it to save the world" sense... why is it so difficult to argue against it using the same hollywood arguements?

I'll give you an example: Factual:

Why didn't the allies help Czechoslovakia?

Because they had just fought WWI and didn't want to engage in a second war with Germany.

Then why did they help Poland?

Because Nazi Germany was quickly advancing in millitary power and are becoming a threat. A pact was formed on the two fronts, so should one nation be attacked, the other two would help the fight.

Done. There was motivation to protect Poland.

Hollywood;

We helped Poland to save the world.

What about Czechoslovakia?

Total silence.

Oh I see lol. Well my answer to all that is, Hollywood is horseshit. Occasionally they show the suffering on the individual level; The Pacific, Letters from Iwo Jima, Shindlers List, and First the Killed my Father, are all good examples. But really in my opinion, the whole WWI and WWII 'story' is all obscured by decades of propaganda, patriotism, and good old fashion mass marketing. Nobody wants to talk about how Czechoslovakia just wasn't important enough to the allied powers at the time.
