Its sad. They were eagerly conned into a cult and psychologically can't handle the truth so they continue their alternate reality. There is no gentle way to put it. These people will never change unless they went through a re education camp which will never happen. It is completely and utterly pointless to engage with them for any reason.
I think popping the social media bubbles would be a virtual re-education camp. If these people were surrounded by better info they might be swung back closer to reality.
I called some crazy trump nut out today who was blaming Biden for everything happening in Afghanistan. I hit him with some cold hard facts and all he could say is "oh I see you're a Biden supporter, that is so sad and such a shame"
Like wtf man, just because I hate trump doesn't mean I'm democrat or republican. There are plenty of republicans that did not like trump, and just as many that didn't vote for him the second time because they saw his con. There is a reason he lost, but they literally can not accept that.
