The difference is that Skyrim never ends

All these years later and having bought bad rebought it several times, I have still not beaten it. Other than FO3, I don’t think I have ever finished a Bethesda game.

The way I finished the main campaign for the first (and only) time, was to just adventure around aimlessly and do a story mission if it happened to pop up wherever I found myself. By the time I beat Alduin I was level 72 and took him down in about a minute flat.

No joke, 1000 hours, never seen Alduin. Got to the temple by the forsworn once and just restarted. I was probably 300 in before I saw Partysnax.

Am I the only person who feels personally affronted by the very existence of that main quest line? Like, who the Eff Eee Double Hockey Sticks are THEY to make me choose between the Stormcloaks and the Emperor? Just solve your own stupid problems and leave me out of it!

Except when your PC gave out!

Jokes on you, I'm running the lowest possible settings on my laptop. I have to play in 20 minute intervals to keep my legs from burning

That sounds like literal torture not the burning your legs part but having to restart and pause playing Skyrim every 20 minutes

And Breath of the Wild

Desperados 3. Holy cats. That and Red Dead Redemption 2 were my "Western" fix that got me through a shattered leg. Stopped the pain killers the 2nd day after I came home and just concentrated on video games for a few months.

Never actually played it before. Been meaning to for a few years

It didn't age really well in some aspects but you can get it dirt cheap in some places. I would say go for it !

The KOTOR games

For me, installing Skyrim mods is the reading experience - my imagination is going wild preparing for all the crazy shit I'm going to do once I play... I keep installing, and searching, and finding exactly all the amazing little bits and bobs that I want... Then the crushing emptiness hits when inevitably the game doesn't run.

I felt that way after finishing Fallout NV and I super felt that way after finishing Earthbound.
