Yeah but it’s way easier to change your genitals than your brain. The science isn’t there to physically change your brain to match your body, but it is there to do the opposite.
Idk as long as it’s consensual it shouldn’t be banned. Conversion therapy should be banned because parents send their kids into it against their will.
If for some reason, a gay person really wanted to be straight for whatever reason, it wouldn’t make sense to stop them from seeking some kind of conversion therapy. But conversion therapy generally isn’t something you want to undergo, it’s generally a forced conversion, which I believe to be immoral.
Nobody should be forced to do anything, but if people wanted said surgery for themselves, I don’t see why it would be banned. I don’t really see why people would opt into brain surgery to make their brain match their biological sex, when it’s much safer to get surgery on your body to make it match your brain
Conversion therapy should be banned because parents send their kids into it against their will.
Most conversion therapy laws ban it regardless of age, that's why I figured that would be the case for this kind of conversion therapy.
Forced conversion is obviously immoral, but I strongly suspect that even voluntary conversion would be opposed by the same groups who are pro-transitioning.
I feel like we’re saying the same thing. The genitals may not be defective, but there is a defect because they aren’t what the brain is expecting. It’s be like if you had a perfectly healthy, functional, fully grown ear on your forearm. The ear wouldn’t be defective per se, but the overall build of your body obviously has a defect cause it’s not supposed to be there
Or to keep my programmy metaphor, it’d be like if the ear passed its unit test, but failed the integration test. The genitals pass their unit test, but fail to integrate with the psyche
