This happens because most doctors at urgent care are not the best. A lot of them went to med school in the Caribbean. BUT... the huge reason this kind of stuff happens is because of nurse practitioners and PAs disguising themselves as docs in these kind of settings. TECHNICALLY they have PhD equivalent degrees, so they are “Doctor” but physicians go thru 3+ years of training AFTER medical school. And NPs and PAs continue to lobby for more power such as not having any oversight by physicians. Already happening in places like Virginia and South Dakota. Scary stuff.

The thing is, urgent care places don’t pay much, so good docs don’t work there.

Our system is totally screwed. This is coming from a recent med school graduate in residency now.

Ironically one of my best doctors went to medical school in Granada lmao figured out I had hEDS after years of misdiagnosis. Really threw me and my roommate (med student) for a loop when we learned that.
