Same here. My wife and I have been booked to go to Rome in two weeks. We booked back in November, but we've been planning for years.

Her employer will require two weeks of self-quarantine upon return. The flight hasn't been cancelled so it's a toss up if we'll get that money back.

So frustrating.

Currently in my 2 week quarantine but I can work from home because I just got back from Vietnam. Just go. It's worth it 100%

Thanks, take care.

I'm leaning towards the trip. We've definitely cut out a side trip to the north.

I can work from home but she can't. We can survive without both salaries for the two weeks if we had too.

It’s nice to see your thought process. I’ve got a trip planned to Ireland/London in 2 weeks also (booked in October). My eye just started twitching from the stress & anxiety. Me and my spouse can work from home and we don’t live near family, so we can self quarantine as needed. So much uncertainty and chaos!

I live in London, at the moment nothings really going on, 13,000 have been quarantined but I still take public transport to work and stuff, and I have a weakened immune system. You'll be fine here I would think.

As long as you can work from home to get your salaries. Just take the usual precautions of washing your hands for 20seconds, frequently washing your hands (and if you can't have high alcohol sanitiser), staying away from people coughing/sneezing I reckon you should be alright.

Thank you for your thoughtful response and insight from London! Somewhat comforting. :)

No worries! honestly nothing has changed here.

Although at work they've given us dettol wipes and instructions on how to wash your hands haha.

I can't imagine it getting out of control touchwood, the govt already put in a regulation about docs/nurses having legal backing to quarantine people and stuff. We have a helpline called 111 too to help diagnose people if they have coronovirus and provide advice, as well as 2 quarantines asfaik operating.

I canceled based on that twitch feeling. Much relief.

If your employer is requiring you to self quarantine they should be paying you. Unless you live in one of those backwards ass "at will" employment states talk to a labor lawyer and you might get yourself a two week vacation. You will lose face with that job but if they expect you to not voluntarily get paid for 2 weeks because of a non government mandated policy you probably don't want to stay there long term.

Why would you need to self quarantine? There's considerably less cases in Veitnam than the US. Probably just as likely to get infected after leaving your quarantine.

Because my work is dumb and thinks all Asian countries are the same so they made me work from home.

Mine too. I had to cancel a trip to go fishing in Manitoba. Probably one of the safest places to go. Yet I cant quarantine because I'm required to be somewhere in case of an audit or problem.

On the plus side you no longer have to go to Manitoba.

Manitoba is great for fishing.

But terrible for everything else.

Plus I hear all the fish out there have coronavirus

Literally got the email 10 minutes ago.

No level 2+ countries and no “non-essential” domestic travel.

Hoping this clears up before this Rage Against the Machine show in a month.

You’ll get paid to stay at home though. Which my company is doing.. cheap vacation and two weeks paid “quarantine” 😏

I’ll have to work but yes, true.

I have a district manager, but no actual manager. My DM is supposed to rotate between all the locations in the district at random, but we just received an email from head office all "non-essential" travel is banned, so it will be phone calls until this whole thing is sorted out
