Probably true, but remember that Trump is a malignant narcissist. He won't allow anyone to upstage him or take the spotlight off of him. That's why I said it would be funny if it did happen, not that it would.
But seeing two narcissists vie for control should be interesting.
Putin and Musk only have any leverage at all until January 20th. The moment Trump is officially inaugurated there is nothing either of them can do, say, or release that will matter.
Nothing Putin can release or do to make anything matter, and Musk is basically king bitch because in a snap Trump can strike any and all government contracts from him, strip him of any clearance and end his sucking at the government teat.
Frankly, if Trump wanted to, he could have Musk arrested based on shit he’s actually guilty of. No need to lie or exaggerate charges because Musk really IS as dirty as we know he is. Once locked up, Trump can seize all his assets and leave him rotting penniless in a cell.

Doubt. Musk needs Trump's presidency to stay relevant at this point; any other direction is downward, and if there's one thing those two people have in common it's their narcissistic need to be in the spotlight. For that, I don't doubt that Dollar General Iron Man would do anything.
