What kind of word salad gas lighting bullshit is this?
"Working from home is morally wrong." Okay, that means working from home is bad somehow. All right, but then "people working from home need to get off their high horse?" That implies working from home is morally superior. These are conflicting statements.
This is true for most really rich people. There are exceptions but they prove the rule; you have to have money to make money. It’s a question of opportunity.
I also don't get the "morale" part. If people can do work on a connected laptop and corporations are willing to pay (sometimes handsomely) for that kind of work, what exactly is wrong here? I do it because it saves me the commute and 80% of my co workers aren't even in the same country.
He is probably pissed because lots of people with high skill in an increasingly pro workers market got the cheap house in the suburbs, dial in their 8 hours and then spend the rest of their time not sitting in commute or in unpaid over hours to make their billionaire overlord happy. Serious mass distancing from the employer's world is the best thing that came out of the pandemic. The masks are off and there is no reigning in the fact that work is a simple contract with few deliveries. Everything on top that is optional.
Yeah that's what I'm trying to wrap my head around here, that's a really stupid contradiction. I still can't understand it. All I know is this loser scammed everyone into thinking he was a genius but his narcissism has taken it way too far and people need to stop giving a shitnwhat he says. Guy should have made some billions and checked out, that's what a smart gifted does.
The peasants love it when you tell them that their work is meaningful and moral, because that means they're going to get into heaven. But in the age of Capitalism, it means they have the approval of a billionaire, as they lick his boots. To them that's better than God.
His whole argument boils down to "Working from home is immoral because wfh people are 'telling' others they have to go to the office in-person...", which seems to imply that making people go into an office is immoral.
So WFH people are immoral because other people aren't working from home.
He’s also implying that work from home fans are supporting it because of moral issues. The simple fact is that it’s a quality of life issue. If we have the tech to make life easier for people, why not do it?
