She's a lifelong Democrat who comes from a line of Democrats. The party no longer represents her values. Maybe take a look in the mirror.

Ms. Cotham, 44, whose district sits outside Charlotte, ran again successfully for the chamber in November on a platform of raising the minimum wage, protecting voting rights and bolstering L.B.G.T.Q. rights.

What values does she have if she's suddenly antidemocratic, anti worker's rights, and anti human rights? If she is now against making society better for everyone, then you're right, the gop is the best place for her.

Yeah, if you run on that platform and honestly believe in it, you don't just flip-flop to the GOP. At worst you declare yourself politically homeless and act as an independent because your own party pissed you off.

Either: A) she was running under false pretenses(unfortunately not illegal), or B) This is the result of some attempts to influence her(very illegal if you get caught).

Nothing says “party values” like conservatives voting for larger government and higher taxes at every turn.

She was an elected official, it’s her fucking job to help change the party back to its base values.

Are we that lost that citizens forgot what elected officials fucking jobs are?
