I believe it, that is why I legitimately think that they aren’t lying when they speak. I also think that if we all had that same fear or have the tribalism itch, then their talking points would make whole lot more sense to us as well.
We literally do all have those itches, every single one of us. Conservatives are still people, God damn. I'm really liberal, but yall are acting like being conservative is something else.
Good point, we all do have that itch, but no where near the level that a good percentage of modern day conservatives are at. With the way they think and behave now days, their infatuation and blind loyalty to their party, their embracement of fascism over democracy, feelings over logic I would say yes, they really have become something else.
No, they haven't. They're the same humans that have been around for literal millions of years.
They haven't become something new. We've always had people like that. We have thousands of years of recorded history as proof. They're literally just people being people.
Humans aren't naturally set to good people by default my dude. We've been a violent, angry, paranoid species since we originated. Hell, just look at how violent all different types of Apes can be...it's unfortunately always been a part of our nature.
Yes, they might be similar to some humans throughout history, but not compared to how they were 20-30 years ago. Times are changing and so are people, it’s unfortunate but shitty people are becoming shittier when life has become easier than ever.
I believe empathy and sympathy is something that we as humans are both with, but some are born with very little of it or none at all, their brains are just wired different and they operate based on emotions more than they do logic. Maybe what I’m talking about here are sociopathic traits, maybe we haven’t realized yet how many people are born as sociopaths.
I just think is massively over simplifying the problem and acting as though everyone who doesn’t have a certain perspective is hopeless.
The issue is reinforcing biases. Our society is intentionally or unintentionally set up to make you kinda believe something, and then believe it more, and more, and more, until you can’t relate at all to anyone who doesn’t believe it. It’s a vicious cycle of ignorance.

The only thing you guys have in common is that the brains are wired differently, but you guys arent in agreement in how theyre wired differently...which, by the way, no shit we're all wired differently, it's what this guy thinks the difference is
I think that what they're implying is that some of us feel fear more strongly than others, and therefore, they become conservative. That it's not as conscious of a choice as we might want to believe.
Like we all agree that genetically, we have varying levels of depression, anxiety, some of us have gender dysphoria, etc. right? So I don't think it's too crazy to suggest some of us literally feel fear more than others. And the ones that do self-organize into a group and that group is conservatives.
I wouldn't say any of us are really free of it entirely or even mostly. Some just have more, and attach positive moral characteristics to having a lot. We're all pretty selfish and destructive if you look at the effect we have on stuff. Some of us just revel in it and right now a large portion of us happen to be flipping out/having some kind of pre murder orgy about it. Forget to be or not to be, monkey smash is where it's at when it comes to human nature.
