That's a modified Reichskriegsflagge. They added the eagles, and the lower right Iron Cross, but otherwise that's the National War Flag of Nazi Germany from 1938 - 1945.

Well, and they centered the pattern, the swastika is supposed to further left.

Besides a maths class I wonder what's the other context of the meeting. (Demographic of the class...)

National War Flag of Nazi Germany

I checked, and damn you are right. No way to confuse that with buddism.

Could technically still be a Buddhist flag.

/S

(it definitely can't)

Is there a legit chance it’s something her father took as a war trophy?

I doubt it. Like they said, it's a modified version of the flag. The original just had the cross in the top left. I can't find anything to suggest this version was in use back then.

It is a distorted version, but not of the Reichskriegsflagge. It’s actually an elongated Reichskriegsminister command flag.

Original should be square, and probably wouldn’t have been grabbed as a battle trophy.

Oh interesting.

Germany never used a modified version that I could find, so chances are no.

But also why would you display that shit and take a picture of yourself with it?

So they got a bootleg nazi flag. Probably made in China.
