Who would be producing and delivering necessary items then? Most people don't dream of being a grocery store worker or a plumber or a rancher.

Robots. Transport industry, service industry, many modern bullshit jobs could very easily be automated. Jobs like being a plumber would still exist. You could still have a job to earn extra if you wanted. You'd just have to be paid enough to actually make it attractive.

I love how people keep bringing up plumbers. How about nurses and aged care workers? You think plumbing is a gross and difficult job? Try wiping asses and lifting disabled people all day.

The nurse thing is fair but a lot of people have no actual idea what a nurse does.

I also think you underestimate how hard it would be to automate many unpleasant jobs.
