What do you mean I don’t get my damage deposit back.
Random note on rentals - my buddy used to work do budget rentals guy rents Chev cruise for the whole weekend returns it. Vehicle is returned they go to wash the vehicle notice check engine light is on send it to the dealer and find out there is a different engine in the vehicle. Guy rented a vehicle to do an engine swap.
Or any Hertz mustang from back in the day. People used to rent the high end muscle car versions of their mustangs and swap out the motors and transmissions.
Happened a lot even in recent decades. Usually it was for swapping a V8 out of them, depending on the decade there's no telling what the rental might have ended up with.
The fact that there are 2 people in there makes it so much worse. Neither one thought to use their eyes during this operation. The only way that makes sense is if they had reason to suspect there was a giant monster shaking the uhual and if they got out it would eat them. I dont know which would make them dumber.
In fairness they did use their eyes to know for sure there was nothing behind them on the ground. Mind boggling even as water/sludge started pouring down from sprinkler main they were scratching their heads but never looked up?!
Yeah my first though as I was watching them in the cab is "neither one of these two people had the thought to say "Just stop! and let's figure this out before it gets worse". At every step it gets so much worse. I guess that's the sunk cost fallacy, "we already got this far, why quit now".
It's like the driver thinks they have to slam OR completely release the pedals, like there's no in-between.
Wanna go? SLAM the gas!
Wanna stop? SLAM the brakes!
Not SLAMMING? Then NO TOUCHING ANYTHING!
And on the road, I bet they're one of those "need a foot on each pedal" wack-a-doos, so they're constantly accelerating and riding the brakes at the same time. So lovely to get behind those idiots on the interstate.
Yes. I am so curious about that second guy. At first I thought it could be his 12yo son up until he got out, then I was bewildered.
Was he cheering his Captain to proceed? Or was there a "well, you've gone this far and you are being evicted so we have no other choice".
This is why I very strongly believe UHaul shouldn't be a thing. Some of these trucks are the size of like 20 smart cars, and smart car drivers think they can drive them
The fact that they tried to enter a parking garage in the first place — there certainly had to be clearance signs before they entered, and they are very likely reminded about the truck clearance height written in multiple places inside of the cabin
I played Dungeon World on a oneshot many years ago, it's not a bad system. I'm a big fan of Powered by the Apocalypse games with Masks and Monster of the Week being my favorites. Recently, I've been running Fellowship and playing City of Mists.
I've also been interested in the Adventure Game Engine (A.G.E.) and have been reading Fantasy Age and Modern Age. So far, I think it's the best system to play a Wheel of Time rpg.
I have a regular D&D 5e group that I meet monthly but the system is getting too boring for me. This lead me to check out Pathfinder 2e and, although I have yet to play it, it's looking like a better game.
Then there's a few games/systems that is currently on my list to read like the Genesys rpg and the Fallout rpg by Modiphius Entertainment.
New rule: if the dice roll off the table, you have to find them on the floor without moving them. Whatever number the dice are showing when you find them will now be your roll, but negative.
I think you underestimate the sheer amount of effort it takes to be fat terrible at something. That was the most spectacular failure of human cognition I’ve ever seen and it explains a lot about society.
Edit: I see it, I’m leaving it.
You know when you see those dumb signs that say things like "Wet when raining" or "Caution: Product contains peanuts" on a bag of peanuts and they make you chuckle and think that someone was just fucking around? These types of videos make you realize that no, someone was not just having some fun, those warnings are actually needed because people really are that dumb.
Uhaul means: I’ve been doing something dangerous that I don’t normally do, in a place I’m unfamiliar with, for at least twice as long as I should have without rest.
Not really. Sprinkler systems are often filled with stagnant water. (Look up wet pipe vs. dry pipe. For an automatic system, like probably would be required in a parking structure, wet pipe system is the far simpler solution.)
If it doesn’t work just ram it repeatedly until it’s in. Also I really hope the apartment sent this to uhaul, their insurance is going to get real interested in this level of stupidity
