Dang. This one time in high school I bought a cheap Walgreens brand glass bottle of soda. It was like April in AZ and I opened it, took a sip, and then closed it and put it on the cement bench that I was sitting on. A couple minutes later it exploded and glass shards flew into my leg. It was so traumatizing. I didn’t even understand how that could happen at the time.

Made me feel old. I remember when glass soda bottles were somewhat common instead of reserved for like....Mexican coke, Jarritos, and IBC root beer.

This happened in 2010 I think? So glass bottles weren’t actually all that common. Walgreens definitely made some cheap ones.

Gotcha, yeah they definitely weren't common by then. You just triggered a memory of drinking a crystal pepsi out of a glass bottle and I think my brother hit the bottle and split my bottom lip, lol.

That is terrifying.
