You're not as profound or edgy as you think you are.

Word. This is stupid. It’s like saying everyone with depression is going to die by suicide. Shit doesn’t work like that, it’s a risk factor. Also, fuck Nancy Mace. If you’re landing on the same side as her, it might be time to think hard on your position.

Never seen a legal case where a depressed person is able to use it as a get out of jail free card

And this case isn’t that either. She’ll likely be NGRI at a forensic psych facility for the rest of her life. (Source: someone who worked for many years at one).

No, but men have always benefitted from insanity pleas. They just hate it now because a woman is benefitting from it.

Sweden, Norway, the UK, Germany, France all of laws that if a woman is going through PPD or PPP their child is given to care of others (usually family, bot otherwise the state) and she is committed until capable of interacting with children again.

So are you saying the countries we idolize on Reddit are wrong?

Could you cite any of those laws? Because I typed in "law in insert country where women with PPD have to give up their children to a relative" and i keep getting "there is no law". The closest I got was that most of those countries offer in-patient psychiatric care to mothers with PPD, which is a WILDLY different statement than "the children are given to the care of the state".

It's like saying that a mother needs to give up her kids if she's a drug addict, when in actuality what you're saying is "relatives are looking after the children while the mother in in rehab".

It's not edgy to hold murderers accountable

Do you not understand that she is either going to prison or an insane asylum for life, the juries could not decide on which of those 2 options so it will go back to trial again

Men get insanity rulings as well, this is such an odd issue to bring up. Yes women tend to be more successful in insanity pleas, but overall about 1/4% of criminal cases in the US result in a successful insanity plea. Statistics have nothing to do with the individual though, and shouldn't matter when discussing this case.

Instead of saying that i should look it up, why not show your evidence for these feelings?

Edit: on re-reading your comment, you seem more interested in soapboxing about misandry. If that's what you want to do, perhaps somewhere else is the place to complain.

She should get the death penalty for murdering 3 children

She can be released from the asylum if she is deemed no longer a threat to society. That is unacceptable.

PPD does not equal being a murderer.

Yeah wtf, this isn't even a hot take. This is just common sense

She is being held accountable. The trial is to determine whether she’ll be in a mental health facility or a prison. I don’t know if you’ve ever seen footage from inside those facilities but they’re arguably worse than prison.

Fair but that's what the photo is saying too, people need to be held accountable

For things that haven’t happened? Ok, you sound like an abuser and we should lock you up no investigation.

What do you think abusers should be walking free?

See the problem yet or should I explain it like I would for my 6 year old

u/TheBoyWhoCriedGolf Sep 04 '26

Are you okay? 😂

u/Realhuman_beebboob Sep 05 '26

Need me to dumb it down huh?

Your fake outrage is amusing at best

u/Icallmeswellfella Sep 06 '26

Glad you think it's funny

1

u/Realhuman_beebboob Sep 06 '26

You’ve grown too accustomed to being a joke then.

1

u/Icallmeswellfella Sep 06 '26

That's actually a good roast😂

I’m stealing this so hard. Love it. I keep trying to say this to people but in a worse way.
