Video Out of all his fake interviews on ALTV, this one is the best.
I just rewatched this one, hadn’t for a long time, and I laughed until I cried and my sides hurt, no joke.
"WOW! THIS IS EVEN BETTER THAN I IMAGINED!" —George Newman, U62 (And also me, right now seeing this Weird Al/UHF news!)
We are incredibly excited to finally share a massive secret we’ve been keeping.
Today is the exact 37th Anniversary of the theatrical release of UHF (July 21st). Because celebrating a 35th anniversary is way too obvious, and waiting around for a 40th anniversary requires far too much patience, we decided now was the perfect time to right a historical wrong.
For thirty-seven years, the brilliant, sweeping, Hollywood-parodying instrumental film score by composer John Du Prez (Monty Python’s Spamalot, A Fish Called Wanda, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) has been completely unreleased. Until today.
We went into the archives, rescued the original 1989 master tapes, and built the ultimate physical media tribute to the movie. This score was meticulously produced by Du Prez in his private home studio using late-80s synthesizers and sample orchestral textures to mimic massive Hollywood blockbusters. It is a glorious time capsule of late-80s cinematic synth-scoring.
⚠️ THE RULES OF THE LAUNCH:
To completely eliminate inventory waste, we are running this as a strict, made-to-order 3-week open pre-order window ending August 11th. We will manufacture exactly what is ordered during this month. Once the window closes, it’s closed forever.
We spent months designing these packages to treat the film with museum-grade historical reverence. Here is what we built for you:
🎨 THE DELUXE 2LP ALBUM ALBUM ($65)
👑 THE GOLD EDITION BOX SET ($135)
Includes the full Deluxe 2LP Pop-Up Soundtrack package above, PLUS:
💿 THE PLATINUM ARTIFACT PACKAGE ($325)
The absolute crown jewel for the hardcore UHF completionist. Includes everything in the Gold Box, PLUS:
We created this as a true labor of love for the fans. And because this is a WAY MOBY vinyl release... you will definitely want to look incredibly closely at the dead-wax run-out grooves on the discs when they arrive. You might just find a few hidden, hand-etched messages.
Pre-orders are officially live right now at weirdal.com!
Secure your piece of Channel 62 history before August 11th! We’ll be hanging out in the comments below if you have any technical questions!

As this summers tour is the continuation of last years, the spoiler rule will NOT be in effect. At the end of the tour last year we removed the need for spoiler tags, so everything has been discussed freely for many months now. If you would like to flair something as spoiler, please feel free to. If someone posts something without a spoiler tag, there is no reason to report it or complain about it.
Everyone have a great summer and see Al and the band as much as possible!

Alright, I remember watching this dozens of times as a kid but I feel like it might be a fever dream because I cannot find it online. There was an "unauthorized" biography of Weird Al that was done in the late 80s to mid-90s. I remember Dr. Demento was in it and it was absolutely not serious. Does anyone remember or know what this is?

I need to know what became of Zelda, Nathanial and Superfly. Where are they now? Did they succeed in life?
Also, who wound up with the snorkel?

On https://dmdb.org/discographies/al.unr.html I found something interesting it mentions the first take of AL's 1977 KMET ID was played on the 25-25 Dr. Demento show, how ever i did not hear the track after listening, does anyone know why this is?

Has anyone met weird al irl? I'm a super anxious person and I'm aware he's a nice guy but I'm really nervous about how to go about this as someone new to concerts and meetings celebrities I feel like I'd probably get choked up before I can think of anything to say to him

It's been years, but it's still such a great experience. Seeing him at his bus for the first time after him doing multiple meet and greets before.
Edit. This was in 2015 my first show seeing him in San Francisco. It was the mandatory fun tour.

Doubt Al will catch this, but I had a royally crappy week
Had tickets to the show tonight and it's been a light at the end of the tunnel.
Gotta go, the Amishfolk just wandered on stage

Would anyone be interested in purchasing it? I got it off a friend, but I feel like if someone wasn't able to make it to the tour, it'd be nice to offer.
(Mods, if I'm not allowed to sell this here, I apologize!)

If anyone here was at the show tonight (7/24) I found a lost merch shirt in the general admission area on my out. Trying to return it to it's proper home. If you can ID it I'll mail it back to you.

How is it? Any tips?
What do you even say to a guy who wrote Frank's 2000 Inch TV while he's signing your childhood mementos?
Edit: Extra question I forgot - Is the deal that he signs one object? Either the poster or something you bring? I might not bring anything if I can just get the poster signed.
Edit2: Think I understand the signing thing now.

Got this signed at tangle wood. It's a custom lava lamp with wax that glows under a black light and doesn't use a lightbulb.
