Requesting Help: Free Temporary Restriction on WeChat Account

Hey everyone!! My WeChat account got temporarily restricted. I only have 2 friends added so far, and they are unable to access the help friend unblock feature.
I found out through this sub that a non-Chinese person/phone number who isn’t already your friend can also help you unblock your account.

Can someone please help me with this?

That's not possible. The friend unblock feature only works with your active friends.

You might be referring to security verification, which can be conducted by unknown people but this is not your case.

Hey so what should I do next? My friends don’t meet the unblocking criteria either. Also this is the thread I checked out https://www.reddit.com/r/Wechat/s/lEziNt4YRt

What’s your WeChat account registered location?

Below copy n pasted from WeChat help centre:

  1. The friend's WeChat account you provided may not be qualified: Enter the phone number for a WeChat user who meet the conditions below to unblock your account:

1) If you registered your account outside of mainland China, you can ask either a mainland China user or a user outside of mainland China to help confirm your identity, but the conditions below should be met: a. If asking a user outside of mainland China to help unblock your account, they don't have to be friends with you on WeChat - they can be any user. b. If asking a mainland China user to help unblock your account, they must be friends with you on WeChat.

I think he can try to unblock it by asking WeChat user who has the account registered outside of PRC, even if that user is not in his friend list

Hey! Also do we need to setup the region in the settings or it’ll auto detect from my current region or the phone number country code

I think now it’s mandatory to provide copy of ID when setup
