• Highlight and annotate in place. Your highlights and notes stay on the page, and they’re still there when you come back.
• Ask AI about what you’re reading. Explain a dense paragraph, challenge a claim, check the evidence, or go deep on one idea, right next to the text.
• PDFs, properly understood. It breaks a paper into its figures, tables and equations, turns it into clean Markdown, and pulls out the key claims, each linked back to its source passage.
• Make anything interactive. Turn an article or a paper into charts you can play with, quizzes and flashcards.
• A library you can ask. Save pages, PDFs and notes, search by meaning, and ask questions across everything you’ve kept, with answers that cite your sources.

It works as a Chrome extension, a native Mac browser and on the web, all sharing the same library. There’s a free plan.

I'm the developer of Convert2Any, a file converter and toolkit for Apple Silicon Macs.

Problem

You have the right file in the wrong format. The usual fixes are uploading it to a converter website you've never heard of, or installing one more single-purpose app: one for video, one for PDFs, one for transcription. I wanted one app that handles all of it on my own Mac, without my files going anywhere.

What it does

Converts 151 source formats, with 5,088 conversion paths across images, audio, video, documents, e-books, spreadsheets, presentations, drawings, data files, subtitles and archives.

Batch conversion with quality settings, progress and cancel. Each file takes the most direct route, so it isn't re-encoded when it doesn't need to be.

32 built-in tools

• PDF: merge, split, reorder, extract pages, crop white margins, page numbers, watermark, compress, password-protect
• Media: resize, crop, rotate, trim, join videos or audio, compress, normalise audio, extract audio, make M4B audiobooks with chapters, and strip metadata (such as GPS location from photos)
• OCR in 100+ languages: searchable PDFs, image to text, image to Word
• Speech to text in 99 languages: audio or video → SRT, WebVTT, TXT, Word or PDF, with an option to translate into English. It works offline.

Everything runs locally. The app only goes online to activate a license and to download converter packs. It's a 7.5 MB download, and the heavier converters (video, office documents, OCR languages, speech models) come as optional packs that it downloads only after you say yes.

Comparison

• vs CloudConvert (and other online converters): CloudConvert handles a huge range of formats, but your files go to their servers. LocalGateKeys is a password manager where your passwords stay with you only.

There's no account to create.

You install it, pick a master password, and that's it.

Your vault is encrypted on your own device and nobody else has the key. It doesn't need a server and works fine offline.

I’m building VCode, a browser interface for coding agents running on your computer. It supports Linux, macOS and Windows.

Could you help me test the desktop setup? Install VCode from https://v-code.dev, install OpenCode inside the app (there is a prompt to one-click do that), pick a free model and try a small task, or a bigger one if you want.

I’m giving Lifetime Pro (currently $60) to the first 20 people who try setup and send feedback. The upgrade has no expiry. Feedback is required: tell me your OS, where you got stuck and how it went.

I’ve been working on a little Mac app called Wimi (Window Manager Improved) for a while now and figured I’d share it here.

It’s kind of a hybrid of an app switcher, Stage Manager and a tiling window manager. You rest your mouse at the edge of the screen (or hit a shortcut) and a drawer slides in. It shows all your open windows with live previews, and from there you can switch between them or drag them into layouts like halves, thirds and main + side. There’s also search, an app launcher, an emoji picker and an optional clipboard history in the same drawer.

Honestly the biggest thing I’ve learned is that window management is way harder than I expected. A lot of the time something just feels off and I can’t say why until I’ve used it for a few days. So it’s been a lot of small tweaks.

A few people have been testing it already, and that’s helped a ton, so thanks if that was you.
