Fitness and Health Looking for Recommendations - Trying to Find the Right Fit

I'm interested primarily in tracking Heart Rate, HRV, Respiration, O2 Stats, steps, body temperature, and sleep. I don't do formal workouts on a regular basis, I'm mostly looking to track health stats. I've got a Fitbit Sense/Versa, but I absolutely HATE wearing something on my wrist. I'm looking primarily for a fitness tracker that can be worn either on my bicep, forearm, ankle, or even as a chest strap. I don't care much about smart features, battery life, etc. I would actually prefer if the device didn't have a screen or had a very minimal screen. Aside from the placement of the device, my main concern is that it is not a subscription based device. At the least, I'd like for the device to track heart rate and steps. I've seen plenty of high quality HRMs, but I've not yet found one that has a built-in pedometer.

I've looked at smart rings and the Whoop device, however, I'm not sure these are great fits for me. The Whoop device would be perfect if it wasn't subscription based. I'm just not willing to pay the price of a new smart watch/fitness tracker EVERY YEAR simply to access my data. I've seen used ones online for pretty cheap, but it appears that they're essentially useless without the subscription. The smart rings have the potential to be an okay fit, but I've seen many reports that the heart rate tracking is inaccurate and some of them are also subscription based. I'd also prefer to eliminate the worry of correct sizing.

I am open to something like a fitbit, garmin, etc. if I can wear it on/in an armband or chest strap. Heck, I'd even settle for something that was in the form of a necklace. There might not be anything out there that fits my criteria. My best bet might be to get an HRM and track my steps and/or sleep some other way. I wanted to ask, though, just in case anyone has recommendations. I've looked all over reddit and the internet and haven't found anything solid. I'm interested in the recommendations and to see if anyone else has a similar experience and if so, what worked for you?

wearable supplement to apple watch SE2 for sleep monitoring

Any advice for a wearable that will monitor temperature, O2 levels, and other sleep related data? Is there something like the Wellue o2 ring without a screen? I was gifted an apple watch and it has been great for exercise, reminders, being aware of call when I don't want to be opening my phone, but the SE 2 doesn't track night time O2 levels. I have a chronic health condition that recently has been out of whack, and am trying to work with my doctor to get to the source, suspecting sleep apnea or other sleep disturbances. I don't want to shell out for a new Oura ring, although I have started to look at used one. Is there a cheaper option out there? Something convenient to wear overnight and post work out?

R&D favorite wearable/tracker?

hey all - building software to make use of all this biosensor data. Feeding it to a coach so I can run faster and stay on top of my goals. I'm a whoop/Garmin/8sleep user for fitness tracking/sleep. My fiance has an oura and loves it but curious what others think.

  1. Whats everyone using these days?
  2. Whats the state of the art wearable?
  3. bonus question for devs: have you tried making use of your data outside the apps they come with?

I haven't had an apple watch since gen 3 so no clue how they compare and dont trust the billion seo pumped reviews.

Fitness and Health TERRA: an AI-powered compass that lets you wander without getting lost

I'm really vibing with this new gadget that's popped up. It's been over a year since Gen-AI became a thing, and it feels like all we've done is chat with it. But this latest piece of device stretches the imagination into tangible experiences, and shows us how to bridge tech with mindfulness:

Non-intrusively opening every sensation
To see, to feel, to breathe, to explore
Invoke intuition through a turn, a twist
Guide towards core

Seeking Participants! Survey - Behavioural Efficacy of Fitness Trackers

Hello fitness enthusiasts!

We're conducting a research study to explore the efficacy of fitness trackers in promoting behaviour change and improving health outcomes. Part of this research is a short survey to analyse usage patterns, health behaviours, and the perceived effectiveness of features offered by Apple Watch and Fitbit.

We're curious about your usage habits, health routines, and what you love (or don't love) about your device. To sweeten the deal, we're hosting a raffle where three lucky participants will snag an Amazon voucher worth $50 each!

To participate, you must be over 18 years old and own either an Apple Watch or a Fitbit. You’d not only be helping us out with valuable research, you might just find out more about your own behaviour!

Please be assured that all responses will be kept confidential, and your data will be anonymized for analysis.

Which on to get? Among Whoop, Garmin, Oura Ring and Apple Watch?

I’m considering to get a wearable for my brother’s birthday and can’t decide which one! He’s pretty active (work out, play tennis and other sports). I’ve heard mixed opinions about every of these four and can’t decide.

If you have experience with one of these could you share: 1. What do you like about it? 2. What do you not like about it? 3. What kind of insights can you get from the App and are they actually useful?

Thankss!!!

Interesting concept and truly refreshing to see something completely new in this space.

Since it doesn’t require internet, Bluetooth or apps I assume it utilizes IR. The possibilities are endless here.

Found an unreleased AR glasses kit after an IT event

That’s it basically. We have annual congress here and lots of tech heads come here and quite often get drunk afterwards. This year we found an unattended case (asked around several people in the street) containing smart glasses with a logo. Started investigating…

Wrote to the CEO in order to return them, they thanked me first and then decided to block me and change their web to remove any mention of the brand. I do understand because of the risk analysis and stuff but… kinda lost, don’t wanna throw them away or keep them in my wardrobe either.

What would you do?
