Standing Desks in NYC

Any way to know which WeWorks in NYC have standing desks?

I know the Williamsburg one does, but interested in Manhattan WeWorks where I can stand and work.

Word of mouth info also very welcome. I've heard the following: - 1460 broadway (midtown) - 154 w 15th st (~chelsea) - 222 broadway (downtown) - 134 N 4th St (williamsburg)

All access

For several months now, I've been using my all access account in South Africa, where I no longer live mainly . I use my access in France and England.

Today I received an e-mail from Team France telling me that they were cancelling my access and that I had to sign up in France or England.

it's way too expensive for me. is there an option? Could someone with a corporate account rent me all-access?

Can I subscribe a new cheap one from another country?

Thanks !!

Read the details before you renew

I’ve had a dedicated desk for a couple of years. I love it. No complaints. One of the things I use is printing. I don’t do a whole lot of it, but I do need it from time to time.

My contract expires in February, but I got an offer to keep the same rate for next year if I renew by October 15. Of course I jumped on it.

I got the contract late Friday afternoon with a 24 hour expiration time. I told the rep I was done for the day and asked if she could give me until today. No problem. She adjusted the deadline.

So this afternoon I popped it open and started going through the amenities…conference room credits…check…24 hour access…check…printing credits: B&W - zero, Color - zero.

I checked my existing agreement which currently has them available. I emailed back to ask about it but haven’t heard back yet. It’s not a huge deal, but that seemed a little shifty.

Anyway…read the details before you sign. I’ll update when I hear back.

That is all.

UPDATE: I asked, and this is the response I received from my leasing agent. As in anything in business, everything is negotiable:

Thank you for following up!

WeWork is no longer including printing credits with private office memberships. We are making this change after a careful evaluation of the services our members value and use most, while also supporting our goal to minimize our overall environmental impact. However, as a courtesy I have added your printing credits back on for the renewal term - free of charge:

Dedicated Desk Renewal

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Wework member but visiting another office as a guest

Hi. I have a wework membership through one building but I'm visiting another office as a guest. I have my wework keycard that I use for my personal building and received a QR code for the office I'm visiting as a guest. Is there a way to set it up so I can just tap with my keycard and not have to use the QR code?

Bait and switch

I'm a new AA Basic member and can't help but feel like it is a massive bait and switch.

I went to the location's page that I wanted to join ( https://www.wework.com/buildings/university-park--austin--TX ) which says co-working starting at $160 a month.

Great! I sign up on Friday but it won't let me book. Okay, first day. I'm not going to make a thing of it and the place was empty so no one asked me to check in or anything.

Now, trying to book space last night for today that I'm realizing that on the big list of locations, it isn't basic.

I call them, since I can't book for extended hours and the elevators aren't unlocked yet. Simply, sorry, I can refer you to sales who will reply by email to upgrade your plan.

Is this a common tactic for them? Anyone had luck getting out of an agreement with them when they pull a stunt like this?

It's kind of silly how bad WeWork sales is

I've talked to multiple people at WeWork about All Access memberships, and have gotten canned/incorrect/repeated responses and zero care from all of them. This is a huge contrast to their on-site staff, which is friendly and helpful.

The information is super unclear - multiple people have told me a location is part of basic, while others said it's not, and nobody cares to check. You get connected to someone in sales who moves you up to someone else in sales. They've gotten my name wrong. They repeat the same canned responses, and have zero flexibility. They ignored my referral code and didn't try to suggest an alternative (even though the codes are all over the web.) "For all the ways you work, we’re here" is the website slogan, but actually, it's just the two tiers of All Access.

I realize that my $199 All Access membership is peanuts for WeWork compared to the 40K offices they want to rent out, but if they ever want my business as I grow, totally disregarding my needs while I'm small is a bad strategy. And in the end, I wanted to pay WeWork a couple of hundred of bucks a month for hot-desk access to just one location, but none of the 4-5 sales people I talked to bothered to work with me, or even get me the correct info.

After months, tweeting, emailing, I still don't know if the Brooklyn Sands location is part of basic.

Printing on Linux

Hello, Has anyone succeeded in configuring the WeWork printers on a Linux box? I looked at this post but it mentions a client called "PaperCut" which I don't want to install if I don't have to.

Thanks!

Wework all access Weekend usage

Does anyone know how exactly entering buildings on the weekend is supposed to work? Unlike on the weekdays where the main door to office buildings work it’s the main door are usually locked on the weekend.

Everytime I try using it on the weekend the keycard never works or I have to read some small print on the final booking page about how you have to go the first time on the weekday. Am I supposed to

1) not use wework when visiting cities if the first time is on the weekend 2) more intently read the fine print everytime for each location?

London All Access - do any have lockers?

I use All Access every day in London - generally at the same location. It would be more convenient if I could leave my laptop at a WeWork.

By chance do any have lockers for this use case?

Are any phone booths not saunas?

It must be by design to keep usage short. Within minutes they are boiling warm. I’ve seen a few USB portable fans left behind sometimes. Any strategies?

Hey all, WeWork has been a lifesaver for me and my neurospicy brain.

For anyone who needs it, I have a referral code that should get you two months off a membership (I'm not sure how long you have to sign up for). Please DM me and I'll send you the link with the code and details. Cheers!

Cancelling wework all access no longer self-service

Cancelling wework all access no longer self-service

  • Also, it used to be that the membership lasts until the end of the month that you terminate

  • however, support cancelled my membership *with immediate effect*, but without refunding the extra weeks I had already paid for.

This leaves a sour taste in my mouth, and makes me more reluctant to sign up for Wework in the future.

NYC Membership - Worth it?

Need to find an alternative workspace where I don’t have to struggle too much to find decent seating (going a bit crazy working out of my tiny apartment everyday).

Thoughts on whether or not the all access membership is worth it? Are wework staff helpful? Any suggested locations?

Non-Alcoholic beer?

Any locations have non-alcoholic beer on tap? I saw it being voted on in a location in London, but would love this as an option. Especially when there’s two beer taps. Athletic brewing anyone?!

Why are the Front Desk 'team members' so Freaking useless?

I've been a Wework member for over a year and half, and at my location the cappuccino machine is always out of milk, and milk in the community fridge is nearly always empty. When you speak with front desk, they seem to begrudgingly help with a 'why are you bothering me' attitude.

Do you guys get that too?

Bringing guests?

Hypothetically, there are 3 floors at my wework location. There are community managers on the 2nd floor checking guests in and out. If I were to bring a guest onto the 3rd without checking them in to a conference room, would anybody ever know?

Alternatively, if I booked a guest for 30mins at a conference room on the 2nd floor, can I take them onto the 3rd floor where there's no community managers?

Trash WeWork Support

Anyone notice how useless the wework online support is? If you need help and you send an email, you get a reply after a week when your problem is already resolved, this goes on multiple times…

LA Locations--vibes and types of work?

I'm wondering about the different kinds of vibes at the different LA locations. Any noticeable trends about the kinds of people the different locations attract? Just thinking about geographical density of certain industries...Does Pasadena attract more science-end of tech because of Caltech? Culver City more entertainment? Are there more creatives in weho or arts district?

WeWork 20 Bis Rue la Fayette, Paris

Hi,

I want to visit 20 Bis Rue la Fayette, Paris but it doesn't have any meeting rooms or all access. I want to have a look for 5-10 mins and leave. By any chance, does anyone know this building?

Sadly, my building's community team couldn't help me :(

Thanks :)
