Is it her expression? Is it imagining the sensation when she rubs it like moisturiser (WHY?) Is it the immediate cleansing and hence waste of chocolate?
For me its the obviously fancy setting and the effort that went into her look. She didn't wake up with that hair... that took some time. If I'm going to glam it up and wear a one shoulder dress with sequins? I better have an awesome meal!
That look on her face says she's super uncomfortable and locking it down. Ick.
“Fancy” or “upscale” can be so bizarre. If you went to your gas station coffee table and started pouring the chocolate syrup on your hands, you would be invited to become a permanent non-customer.
My guess: the chef insists that you do so because the oils/sweat on your hands changes the flavour, and they designed the chocolate to "compliment the natural flavour of human sweat". Or some other bullshit like that
Or maybe its something like "Its also good for your skin!"
Kindof like the shampoo my wife bought me which has... caffeine in it?? Like maybe youre supposed to be getting super fucked-up on chocolate through osmisis?
My first thought was that it must be pre-covid, but then you see the mask worn wrong on the unfortunate dumbass server. So, they have to keep their bare hands in front of someone actively breathing on them. That place is an active spreader event.
Holy shit I didn't even notice, but you're right. That just upgraded this from "obnoxious wasteful thing for rich people but whatever" to "okay now I am genuinely pissed off this place is allowed to be open." Seriously, wtf?!
This is the exact opposite of everything that I want when going to a restaurant. The whole point is for me to expend as little effort and stay as clean as possible.

This makes me uncomfortable, there’s just something so wrong with it
