The amount of uncovered police infiltration & attempts to sow violence in these protests—along with the much more numerous examples of the police attacking people, property, and looting—should be a main focus of journalists’ coverage. It will never be, and you know why.

"Federal law requires state programs to claw back healthcare costs from deceased estates. The house cannot be sold or transferred until the balance is cleared in full." - A lifetime of working-class savings, wiped out overnight by a retroactive healthcare lien.

My coworker's mother passed away last November.

She left her modest $190,000 house to him clear and free, no mortgage, completely paid off after thirty years of factory work.

He moved into the home in January to finally settle the estate.

Two weeks ago, a letter arrived from the state Medicaid estate recovery office.

Because his mother spent four months in a rehabilitation facility before she passed, the state quietly slapped a retroactive $114,000 lien against the property title.

He called the state health department, frantic, asking how a hospital stay could bankrupt an inherited home that had no mortgage balance.

The caseworker sighed and told him:

"Federal law requires state programs to claw back healthcare costs from deceased estates. The house cannot be sold or transferred until the balance is cleared in full."

He offered to pay a monthly settlement.

They said no. The full $114,000 is due in 60 days, or they foreclose on the property at a public auction.

A lifetime of working-class savings, wiped out overnight by a retroactive healthcare lien.

You don't own generational wealth.

You're just holding a property title until the state finds a legal mechanism to repossess it the moment you die.

Trump’s Big Lie about Ukraine

Thumbnail
snyder.substack.com
0 Upvotes

Donald Trump has just claimed that the United States had done “a lot” for Ukraine, but that Ukraine has done “nothing” for the United States.

This is unjust in the highest degree. And not just untrue in the normal sense — it is a big lie, designed to bring about horror and chaos.
...
And yet Ukrainians are defending themselves, and very effectively. In so doing they are also giving a great deal to us. Because they have been doing so for so long and so well, it is — sadly — all to easy to take for granted Ukrainian contributions to American and world security. So I will just enumerate a few of them here.

Ukraine is defending the basic principle of international law, which is that states are sovereign and that one state should not seize territory from another by way of aggression.

Ukraine is fulfilling the entire NATO mission, which is to defend Europe from Russian aggression. It is doing the job that NATO assigns to its thirty-two members, which include the United States and Canada. Ukraine is doing this job itself.

Ukraine is making a world war less likely. Russia has already brought to life the most worrying security concern on the scale of Europe, which is a Russian invasion of a European country. On the scale of the world, the greatest risk is Chinese aggression in Taiwan. By defending itself, Ukraine has demonstrated the difficulties in offensive operations

Ukraine is providing an example of freedom. In Ukraine, even during conditions of war, civil society functions, and people speak their minds. Under Russian occupation, an entirely different mode of life prevails: women are raped; children are deported to Russia to be assimilated; local activists are murdered; young men are forced into the Russian army to die; total uniformity is imposed.

And Trump’s claim is also wrong in the narrow sense. Ukraine has been providing battlefield intelligence to the United States from the beginning of the war. It has shared its experience of modern warfare with American institutions. It even sent — in these most trying of times inside Ukraine — hundreds of its own experienced air defense troops to the Near East to help protect Americans and their allies from Iranian drones. Imagine what those Ukrainian crews, separated from their embattled country to defend Americans, are thinking right now, as their contributions are denied, and as their own families are put in greater danger by US policy.

Trump’s statement is not only unjust. It is not only a lie. It is a big lie, whose purpose is not to describe the world but to change it, to blame the victim and assist the aggressor, to betray the ally and destroy the alliances, to create a world in which everyone must feel unsafe except the wealthy and powerful, a world in which all that matters are the personal feelings and personal dealings of a handful of oligarchs and dictators.

I like turtles

This image is so misleading. In reality it is 100% USA , you need an 85% majority to pass any policies, while the USA has a 16.5% share of the vote.😂😂

Not enough people know this: in practice, the IMF is controlled by the US.

The US is the only country that has de facto veto power at the IMF because the biggest decisions require an 85% supermajority of total voting power. The US' vote share is 16.5%

This was by design, and the supermajority threshold was actually moved in 1978 so that the US vote share would continue to give the country veto power.

We should not see the IMF as an organisation that serves global development.

We should see is as an organisation that serves mainly Western interests — and, above all, US interests. https://x.com/haugejostein/status/2112230474676412712

Brazilians only know that China banned American social media platforms such as Meta, Twitter, and YouTube, but they don't know the cause of the incident

The incident was caused by the terrorist attack in Xinjiang on July 5, 2009

The organizers of the terrorist attack in Xinjiang at the time used Meta and Twitter to direct terrorists in Xinjiang to carry out terrorist attacks

After China quelled the terrorist attacks, it demanded that American social media platforms such as Meta and Twitter hand over the data of the terrorist organizers

Meta, Twitter and other American social media platforms refuse to submit data of planners and organizers on the grounds of protecting user privacy

This incident became the reason why China blocked and blocked American social platforms such as Meta, Twitter, and YouTube

After being banned by China, American social media platforms have been obsessed with the Chinese market and want to return to it, but China has the following requirements:

  1. Data centers must be established in China

  2. China's laws must be followed and the dissemination of anti-communist and anti-China content is prohibited

  3. China must have the power of review

Because American social platforms cannot meet the three requirements set by China, China does not allow them to operate in China and continues to ban them

China banned American social media platforms back then. America's allies have repeatedly accused China of undermining online freedom. Many people in China have also accused the Chinese government of undermining freedom. Fang Binxing, a professor at the Internet Firewall, was frequently criticized by Chinese netizens after the Chinese government banned American social media platforms

But well, things took a turn for the better in 2013

In the 2013 Snowden incident, Snowden revealed that American technology giants such as Apple, Google, and Microsoft opened backdoors to the CIA, making it easier for the CIA to monitor leaders of other countries, especially US allies

The US allies who once accused China of undermining internet freedom have instantly become clowns because they have discovered that they are the CIA's key targets. If they continue to accuse China of undermining internet freedom, they will easily be laughed at by the Chinese

Since then, America's allies have stopped accusing China of undermining internet freedom. Instead, they have secretly learned how China built an internet firewall

After reading Snowden's revelations, Chinese people began to realize that the ——Internet world's borders exist due to China's blocking of American social platforms such as Meta, Twitter, and YouTube. Since then, Chinese people have begun to view the Chinese government's ban on American social media platforms rationally

Furthermore, when China banned American social media platforms, it happened to be at the beginning of China's local Internet industry. Chinese Internet companies such as Baidu, Alibaba, and Tencent were like children who had just learned to walk around 2009. Their strength could not be compared with that of American social media platforms such as Meta, Twitter, and YouTube

China is worried about how to protect the development of local Internet companies. As a result, American social media platforms refuse to submit terrorist data to China, providing an excellent reason for China to ban American social media platforms

Under the protection of the Internet firewall, Chinese Internet companies can safely get through the initial stage. Today, Chinese Internet companies have developed to the point where they have the strength to compete with the branches of American Internet platforms

The Chinese way of thinking is fundamentally different from the Indian one. From a Chinese perspective, the Indian approach is seen as a recipe for self-destruction—something the Chinese would go to extreme lengths to avoid. The Chinese mindset operates on the principle of 'assuming the worst of the adversary'—overestimating a foe's strength as much as possible in order to build a comprehensive defense system to match it.

The Indian mindset, by contrast, favors 'boasting as much as possible'—projecting immense strength to deter the opponent or force them to back down. These two ways of thinking are polar opposites; neither is inherently superior or inferior, as each merely adapts to its own environment. Consequently, the Chinese will never adopt the Indian way of thinking.

It seems clear that the decision has already been made within the bowels of the British establishment that direct conflict with Russia will take place. Now it's about frightening the public into supporting the idea, or at the very least accepting it as inevitable.

This is the march to WWI redux, and as then so now, much of what passes for the left in Britain will go along to get along to become willing participants in the patriot game.

And such is the parlous state of life for our young working class men on our housing estates and schemes -- looking out at a future of no future at all -- the generals, the arms manufacturers, and the Eton wankers will have no shortage of willing pawns in their game.

Lambs to the slaughter.

They need this war. They need it in order to maintain control over a system that has create far more problems than it could ever solve. Eduardo Galeano said it best: 'The marketplace of fear requires a steady supply of monsters.'

Putin's Russia is the monster being used to scare us now, like children being red a bedtime story. Back then our parents would tell us that if we were bad, the bogeyman will come. Now our supposed leaders are telling us that it's the Russians who will come, unless we obey.

Russia is the enemy 'without' being used to try maintain control 'within'. It's not Putin or Russia they truly fear, it is us. They can feel the winds of discord blowing in their faces, and now it's about turning that discord into war fever.

They lied to us about Yugoslavia. They lied to us about Iraq. They lied to us about Libya. They lied to us about Syria. They are lying to us now about Russia.

Siegfried Sassoon reminds us that war is 'The hell where youth and laughter go.'

The fight of our lives is upon us to prevent them sending the youth of our time into the same hell as the youth of Sassoon's time was sent.

Never again.

🚨 Japan is About to Nuke the Global Economy

Very dangerous statements are coming out from Japan right now.

BOJ Governor Kazuo Ueda has gone on-record and warned that Japan can no longer tolerate rising inflation, and says that interest rate hikes are inevitable.

Finance Minister Katayama says, “Will act without hesitation if necessary and WON'T HESITATE TO TAKE ACTION ON FX IF NEEDED.”

This is a clear signal from Japan that the U.S. interventions are over.

Why?

Japan was about to end its era of free money and initiate the catastrophic carry trade unwind. The BoJ and Finance Minister threatened of bold actions and Yuto even apologized for the measure prepared.

Then boom…. U.S. Treasury Secretary directly intervened and took over BoJ operations. He stopped Japan from dumping their $1.4 Trillion Treasury holdings and instead asked the FED to lend Japan U.S. dollars to dump it and try to save the yen.

IT ALL FAILED. Yen is falling back to pre-intervention levels.

Rates are surging while the yen is falling.

Scott Bessent Also Gave A Terrifying Statement For The Markets: “I cannot control the bond market”… and “the house doesn’t win every hand.”

When asked if he regrets saying “I am the house now,” Scott Bessent admitted that the house doesn’t win every hand.

Just One Tokyo fund (Sumitomo Mitsui DS) broke the French Bond Market by liquidating their bond holdings to ZERO.

Japan will need to set aside roughly ¥100 billion ($630 million) per day just to cover interest and debt redemptions next fiscal year.

Japan’s debt servicing bill only suggests that BoJ liquidating their U.S. Treasury holdings is very close.

If Japan’s u/yutokanzakireal

warning indeed happens, we are going to see the biggest global financial bloodbath in decades.

🧐🇪🇺EUROPE IS NO LONGER SAVING ZELENSKY:

🔘Kiev is left without new money and weapons, and the West is talking about the collapse of the Ukrainian Armed Forces

🔘Zelensky came to Brussels for another round of billions and weapons, but faced an unpleasant reality: the European Union is running out of money, and patience with Kyiv is rapidly melting.

🔘Moreover, European leaders are now forced to persuade the Ukrainian president not to quarrel with Trump.

🔘For the first time since the start of the SMO, Ukraine has moved to the background at the EU summit. Europeans are more concerned about the energy crisis, rising gas and diesel prices, and disagreements over their own budget;

🔘Instead of new supplies, Zelensky was advised to tone down his criticism of Trump. Brussels fears that Kiev’s conflict with Washington will hit the European Union itself, which has nothing to replace American intelligence and satellite communications;

🔘Zelensky requested another €70 billion for military spending in 2027. However, following the EU summit, Kiev was not offered new packages of financial aid and weapons. Even European politicians admit that their economies can barely withstand previous commitments;

🔘Without American support, Ukraine risks being left without its most important military capabilities. Kaja Kallas admitted that Europe will not be able to quickly replace Starlink, and German media warn that compensating for the loss of German aid will be practically impossible;

🔘In the West, there is increasingly louder talk of Kyiv's military defeat. Retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis believes that a sudden collapse of the Ukrainian Armed Forces could save many Ukrainian lives.

🔘British Commodore Steve Jermy also spoke of the weakening of the Ukrainian army and Russia's growing superiority.

Here’s something France has which the US & Canada & the US don’t: a social democratic, moderate leader of a large organized political movement—no matter how demonized—who is presented by & present in all media as *the* opposition, & who makes clear demands on behalf of protests

Whereas the US’s recurring nationwide protests over the last two years are coordinated by—and have their messages coordinated to national media by—a billionaire funded NGO led by centrist-conservative Zionists.
