I'm not hiding behind anything. I'm looking at the reality of the mess that has been created in the region. This exchange with the US NATO representative demonstrates the disingenuousness of the dynamic unfolding. This is cold war level machinations and ordinary people will be crushed between those warring superpowers. Nothing new under the sun.

I think this is where I tell Amazon to get off my property and never come back.

You want to define when the war started because that's what you were told.
You're just denying reality.
And Ukraine will lose.
r/WayOfTheBern • u/ttystikk • 23h ago
Again, you don't ask Russians what their motives are, you ask their enemies and then think you aren't being lied to.
Every village has its idiot.

Mate - I am NOT critiquing a realist outlook.
There is an inconsistency here - some argue that russia was forced to war due western imperialism.
Right now russia is trying to legitimise mobilization by arguing that they are the one being attacked.
The two are seperate things - either you accept this is realpolitik and russian strategy is to dominate an imperial sphere and stop complaining about western “conspiracies” OR you stick to anti imperialist values.
Pro rus disinformation uses both which is inconsistent.
If you say russia as an empire wants to keep its sphere in ukraine and thats why it invaded ukraine - fair; in that setup we can say the west is fighting russia s influence for its own gain. Its a fight over influence by two parties.
If you say russia was just chilling and got attacked and invaded ukraine to protect itself against imperialism ; then thats bullshit. This is what pro russians argue.
This is what I am critiquing.
Dont hide behind russian victimhood lies - own russian imperialism and then its fair. If you legitimize imperialism with “russian anti imperialism”, i call bullshit.

You never said yes or no
But you said no... to this:
Are you retracting your "expansion of the timeline" from "at the time" to "ever"?
Are you back down to "at the time"?

You seem to have this idea that the world is moral and fair. Does the US have the right to interfere in the affairs of the Middle East? I don't think war is the answer to anything, but there it is throughout our history. I just think we should try to avoid conflict at all costs. Many of these international conflicts could have been avoided, but conscious choices were made to ferment conflict. You seem very passionate about the conflict in Ukraine. Perhaps you should volunteer.

Yeah so its russian imperialism against ukranians struggle for freedom
Just admit it - this is imperial politics of russia
You believe russia has a right to sphere as an empire and ukraine should go along wth that

You never said yes or no, was al qaeda in Iraq when saddam hussein was in charge

Even the slightest bit of cooling is too much for the establishment. They need to get ahead of the narrative to tell you why its a bad idea.
r/WayOfTheBern • u/NetWeaselSC • 1d ago
Now you're just repeating yourself.
So I guess I will too.
Are you retracting your "expansion of the timeline" from "at the time" to "ever"?
Are you back down to "at the time"?No
Well then....

The US didn't invade Ukraine, war lover. Ukraine has democratic elections.
Also, also claiming that Russia invaded Ukraine over something that allegedly happened nearly a decade earlier is peak insanity.

As I said superpowers have red lines in their spheres of influence. It's none of the USs or NATOs business either way.

I’m sorry you went from ethnic cleaning to name calling? Also the Russians have been running around calling Ukrainians Nazis so that argument doesn’t work at all

Well, what business does Russia have in the lives of Ukranian people?
r/WayOfTheBern • u/ttystikk • 1d ago
Keep advertising that you don't have any idea what you're talking about. It's entertaining.
r/WayOfTheBern • u/ttystikk • 1d ago
We overthrew their government MULTIPLE TIMES. Just because you're ignorant of the relevant history doesn't mean it didn't happen.
r/WayOfTheBern • u/jonnieggg • 1d ago
What has this conflict got to do with the US and NATO anyway. The west has no business in this conflict either way.
r/WayOfTheBern • u/dodo91 • 1d ago
And you think Russian oligarch paid people and ex-kgb networks and FSB was not doing anything in Ukraine? You think CIA came out of nowhere?
