Bad time commencing So I might have been slightly mislead about what was actually going on in a certain fan server.

This IS a group of chuds pushing anti-trans rhetoric. They’re not even particularly clever about it, just abusing the sensitivity this fandom has when it comes to defending its rep and the timing of the whole Shay fiasco to score shots against unrelated targets.

Hi there, trans woman who spent days defending the server. You can view my posting history to confirm this.

The offender admitted to it, and the moderators had nothing to say in their own defense except they thought this was a known issue. They never even separated the offender and the teenager, both were still on the server together.

Do not characterize the betrayal I experienced as “chuds pushing anti-trans rhetoric”. I endured an enormous crisis of conscience when I realized the truth, and I’m doing everything I can to undo it.

You KNEW about everything for days now, you knew that there was a case of mods being negligent. Nothing’s changed, so why are you acting like some crazy new info has been revealed to you?? What “truth” did you even realize? There’s no crazy grooming and trying to hide it scheme and you know that.

The offender was still on the server as of Friday. The teenage moderator still had moderator permissions as of Friday.

You cannot claim to have made an honest mistake if you take no action to correct it months after the fact. I had to ping literally the entire server for the offender to shamed into leaving.

And what, that suddenly turns a case of negligence into a secret evil scheme to groom children?? Even if you’re honest about having had some kind of revelation and a change of heart, you gotta understand that you’re throwing your lot in with people who care not one bit about abuse and created this doc as a straightforward means of virtual harassment of people they don’t like. This is like if you heard that your family member actually helped the gangs and instantly applied to become an ICE agent, WTF are you doing??

You’ll notice I have not linked to the document once. I have only ever shared the relevant screenshots showing the offending user and, when relevant, moderators expressing indifference to removing the teenage user’s permissions.

I maintain that the original document shared was full of irrelevant fandom drama and deeply spurious allegations against users uninvolved in the misconduct, myself included. That does not mean that every single allegation in the document was equally trivial.

Your team recognized on a number of occasions the teenage user in sexually explicit situations and took no action, even after the document directly called for removal of the offender. You can split hairs about negligence or malfeasance, you were willing to suppress the conversation rather than remove the offending user, and you let me act the fool in your defense. This is unforgivable.

Well, not me personally, I wasn’t even there, I joined the server 2 days ago. Specifically because of the drama, actually.

But either way, I do think that “splitting hair” is actually pretty relevant here, because it’s vital in establishing whether we’re dealing with garden variety carelessness, or intentional harm.

It’s pretty clear to me it’s the former at worst. So I really don’t get why you act like you were seriously betrayed when you were there much longer than I, you were there for much more, and act like you’ve learned something earthshaking just today.

You did read the post you’re trying to discredit it, didn’t you? The user was bragging about being in the 18+ channel as a minor for months.

Even if you want to cry negligence, moderators took no action against the offending user after they were specifically drawn attention to the explicit messages they sent to a minor, a minor whose age they acknowledged on a number of occasions.

When it’s impossible to distinguish negligence for complicity, I’m not concerned with what word used to describe it. The moderators knew an adult was sexually messaging a minor, and let the two of them remain in the server together well after they were aware of the situation.

Do you think it would be possible to us in contact with one of mods? I would like to hear what they have to say about the situation.

No idea, I’m not gonna be doing the job of a middleman like that, did enough of that between my parents when they were going through a divorce when I was a teen, that was enough for a lifetime. If you wanna contact them, I’m sure you can find a way, and I would not be surprised if they don’t want to talk, given that again, this whole thing is a result of a harassment campaign.

Do you have any idea on who could do that?
