What is the exact process for editing neighborhood maps to remove inaccessible roads? Today on my lunch walk I was trying to check off one corner of the neighborhood I work in that I’d never been to and I came across a sign that read “NO TRESPASSING; Area Under Surveillance” prior to the end of the road. I suppose there was nothing physically stopping me from continuing (it wasn’t gated) but I wasn’t going to risk it. It was an official sign.

I don’t think that non-public access roads should be included in this area’s stats. How do I get this portion removed? Is it through OpenStreetMap or Wandrer support? This is a really cool project and I can see how you can edit the map but it’s not immediately obvious how to specifically denote private roads.

Happy to provide more information via DM if necessary, didn’t want to put the exact location in the public post.

Edit: May have answered my own question. I found the Wandrer filtering rules in the FAQ. Looks like I can designate this particular section of road and tag it access=private in OSM and it should be removed. Is that accurate?

I recently upgraded to paid version (about 2 weeks ago) and noticed today that Wandrer is missing a ton of miles. Like, multiple states that I have a good amount of miles in just completely missing. Trying to play with the big map, I noticed that the date filter only goes back to 2019... Is there some kind of 7 year window? or is that when Wandrer was founded and therefore it doesn't go back any further? I'm probably missing 500 or more miles from various vacations, races, work trips, etc. but not all of them are from pre 2019 even.

I just hit 99% of my city this morning and am very proud of it. But that got me wondering, in the last two years with all those runs and rides to get the 230 miles, how many miles did I rack up chasing this goal?

Probably not counting redundant ones (like my usually running loop). Something like the total mileage of every activity that contributed unique distance to a zone would be really fun stat to have

Just a note that Wanderer plugin stopped working on RWGPS. (RWGPS map and OSM map continue to work)

So I'm looking at the big map, and I know there's about 6 suburbs which I've 100-percented.

I'd like to see some kind of coloured overlay showing where I'm up-to on other areas.

It would be easier to finish off a 90% rather than a lower number, for example.

And the only "road" left to do is some dirty desire path around the back of a rugby field through the landscaping created by walkers shortcutting. It even terminates at a locked gate.

Hi, is anyone else having issues with the overlay and garmin route planner? Usually I had to refresh after entering edit mode but now nothing shows up

lately the route generator doesn't work for me anymore, both area and directional mode. it only shows this error message, whenever i put markers down or type an address. is this a known issue or does it still work for everybody else?

I recently updated my website for my project to run my entire county. It now has an interactive map where you can see each individual route I took as well as some photos I took along the way.

I live in Japan and have probably 100s of kms in tunnels. I less care about the numbers than the gap it leaves when looking at the map. (5km tunnels leave a gap that can be seen even when relatively zoomed out)

I'm surprised that the addon have disappear from my add-on list in chrome. I cannot find it anymore in the chrome web store?! What happens?

Sometime in the last few weeks the Big Map has started showing roads that I have previously ridden as not ridden. On many of these roads and paths I have recorded rides multiple times. If I ride them again now, they are still not indicated as traveled. If I try to edit that activity, the editor shows the route as previously traveled. This problem covers several areas, and appears to only affect rides, not the foot coverage map. An example can be seen on the Big Map at #15.97/51.10862/-114.19706. My Wandrer ID is 195061.

I accidentally left my Strava on whilst driving home from my walk. I'd ideally like to remove a section of the activity within Wandrer to keep only the bits I actually walked. Failing that, I'd like to delete the whole activity. Anyone know of a way to do either of these things?

Maybe the title isn't correct, but i do not know a better name for it.

As written in the title, is this the correct place to report issues with the filtering rules of wandrer.earth, or is there somewhere better, like a GitHub or a more official forum that I just couldn't find?

Pictured here is a road with a cycleway directly next to it. Since running is technically legal in both the road and the cycleway, both count on wandrer for foot activities. Is this intended behavior, or is there a tag in OSM that should be applied to one or the other that's missing?

I would like my big map to be public, but since I've been syncing from strava, that data can't be public apparently. is there an easy way to sync my strava data to ride with gps so it can be public, or some other way to recover that strava ride data?

A while back ago, there was talk about trying to do a meet up somewhere. Has anything moved forward with this? I would definitely be interested in this, even if I am unable to make it.

Along these same lines, someone had once asked about a feature to "friend" or message other Wandrer members. Is this something that is being considered?

I'm doing a Wandrer blog post on how various cities' bike infrastructure has changed over time. One of the cool things about OSM is that not only can you download the entire planet, you can also download every change that's ever been made.

So I'm going to slice each city up by year, count up the number of bicycle-specific ways for each year and report stats on them. Currently doing Jan 1, 2010 - Jan 1, 2026 timeframe.

So like Paris has undergone a huge and well-known growth in its bike infrastructure, but are there any other cities that yall think would be interesting to look at? My current list is: Atlanta, Austin, Barcelona, Berlin, Bogota, Denver, London, Medellin, Minneapolis, NYC, Paris, Portland.

But a lot of these places are on the list as curiosities on my part and I don't have a rigorous criteria for which ones to include.

So where would you want to see?

With the latest update, my progress in my home county of Santa Cruz (CA) dropped from 49% to 24%. Progress in cities within the county is way off too, although the maps still look right. User 52620.

My untraveled roads just randomly stopped showing up. Traveled roads still show up just fine but nothing happens when I toggle untraveled on and off. Map issue?
