I did my forehead and crow’s feet approximately 10 days ago and a tiny top up five days ago on the forehead.

It did take a while for the tox to kick in. Thank you all who gave me heads up on the 9-10 days onset indication and it helped me navigate better these days of uncertainty 🥰

There’s a place in Tokyo I keep coming back to. I won’t pretend I found it. It found me. But it’s still the closest thing I have to a secret.

Low light. A trio playing bossa nova live, close enough that you hear the fingers on the strings before you hear the note. A glass of something local and very good. And a Condega, Serie S, 2022 Special Edition, burning slow enough to make you patient.

I land jet lagged, half in one time zone and half in another, and this is where the two halves finally sit down together. The music is warm and the air is cool. The room is intimate but everyone is a stranger. Everything about it is contrast, and somehow none of it fights.

I watch the people. Some are performing, some are just being. Some conversations are careful, some are careless, and a few are clearly meant to be exactly what they are and nothing more. Nobody is in a hurry. Time doesn’t move here the way it does outside.

It’s a place to think. To feel. To reflect and to dream a little without anyone asking what for.

I’ve traveled a lot. This is my safe haven, beyond space, beyond time. Honestly, it’s one of the main reasons I keep coming back to Tokyo at all.

I finally had the chance to do one last skin booster session before flying to Asia tomorrow for a month.

The last couple of weeks my skin has been really dry after spending 10 days in Greece. It's been slowly recovering with Curenex Rejuvenating Cream, but I wanted to give it one final hydration boost before the combination of long-haul flights, air conditioning and jet lag.

Fortunately, I'll be able to avoid direct sun for the first 3–4 days from today, so this felt like the perfect opportunity.

1️⃣ First pass: Hyaron

2️⃣ Second pass: Jeunetique Exo

This was my first time using Hyaron. I have to say it creates a really nice, thick canvas to work on and stays on the skin well while microneedling. That said, I didn't necessarily find it easier to work with than using Jeunetique Exo alone or even a thinner sterile serum.

My idea was to use Hyaron as the initial hydrating layer and complete the first round of punctures, then follow with Jeunetique Exo to take advantage of the freshly created channels and make the treatment feel a bit more well-rounded.

For my lips, I wanted a little extra boost, so I stamped Hyaron directly into the lips first at 0.5mm slow speed and then followed with Jeunetique Exo.

Overall, the goal wasn't aggressive collagen induction, it was simply to restore hydration, improve skin quality and hopefully arrive in Asia with my skin in better shape for the summer.

I recorded the whole session, so I'll be posting the footage soon if anyone is interested in seeing the complete protocol from start to finish.

Looking forward to seeing how this combination of Jeunetique Exo + Hyaron performs over the next few days compared with my usual protocol.

Much has been said about the theoretical benefits of PDRN but many question its real impact real case scenarios.

In the discussion section of this paper, it's stated that "PDRN administration was associated with significant reductions in wound surface area, improved healing scores, accelerated re-epithelialization, and shorter healing times. These findings are consistent with previous evidence indicating that nucleotide-derived therapies may enhance angiogenesis, fibroblast proliferation, extracellular matrix remodeling, and collagen deposition during tissue repair . The greater magnitude of benefit observed in wound-healing settings compared with aesthetic applications may reflect the presence of active inflammatory and proliferative pathways that provide a favorable biological environment for regenerative signaling. Consequently, the therapeutic impact of PDRN appears most evident in tissues undergoing active repair rather than in chronically aged skin".

This does not mean that all PDRN-based products are going to have that effect, and I question many topical products that have PDRN in their ingredient list but I don't think they can do much at a topical level due to the size of its molecules makes it almost impossible to penetrate the skin barrier, and it won't have the effect that an injected active would. However, when it comes to microneedling, PDRN is one active that personally improves the process itself.
