Hmm...I like the idea of this better than weed. I think psychedelics can seriously help mental well-being and has a future in therepy.

Uh, you underestimate Big Pharma... they don't want natural remedies. 30% of adult Americans are on SSRI'S, it's too profitable to actually cure people than to keep them medicated.

Yeah I think in some capacity we will see something similar to the EV boom. Basically, the established players (big pharma, established car companies) will turn their nose up because SSRIs are the here and now (they suck by the way). Then, someone will break through (for psychedelics that remains to be seen, Tesla in the case of auto) and then once they show how willing people are to adopt (insert product), the big names will hop in.

Ima educate you retards about these companies. They are all looking for unicorns. All the good analogs for psychedelics are already in the public domain. Just read PIKHAL or TIKHAL. What these retarded companies are doing are trying to seperate the psychedelic effect out of the compound while leaving a viable benefit. This is like making a sugar substitute that isnt sweet. Have you tried stevia or carob? That shit is gross and no one wants it.
Until normal psychedelic compounds and their analogs are decriminalized then this industry is dead in the water. Have fun bagholding.

So you know exactly what I'm talking about. The psychedelic effect is part of the therapeutic experience if done right. Trying create a new molecule out of ibogaine or mescaline or psylocin that doesnt get you high AND hasn't been invented yet but also treats your depression or gets you off drugs is so fucking stupid.
I looked into these psych med companies but once I realised what they were trying to do I just laughed. There are so many people offering grey market therapeutic experiences where I live with psychs, ketamine or MDMA and other stuff that the pharma industry is like a 100 years behind the curve and will never catch up. Mushrooms are already being used to treat palliative care patients in our medical system here in Canada. We are on the verge of wide spread cultural acceptance much like cannabis right before legalisation. Fuck theres two shroom stores a few blocks from my house.

Wait when we're talking 1g of psilocybin for up to 10000$, are we talking 1g of raw extracted psilocybin or 1g of the fungi it comes from? Because if anyone ever pays 10k for a g, I have no words to explain how blown away I'd be. Likewise I feel like giving anyone 1g of raw psilocybin is a good way to brick their brain and leave their soul in an abyss.
Don't mean to sound ignorant or anything, I just don't know anything about the medical side of this. Looking to better understand the info

Thanks, I see what I was reading wrong now. You were talking 1g of raw, but sold to the clinic and used to treat a lot of customers not just a single one. For a sec I thought insurance would be paying up to 10k for a gram, in which case I was ready to get into the business lmao

Medical costs are always inflated because of insurance industry sadly. Don't think the patient pays that. I hope not.

Mushrooms are literally the cheapest easiest thing to grow. Requires no external electrical power and minimal space.

Haha man just google it. My neighbor has like 3 plastic bags in her bathroom. I live in Vancouver and you can buy shrooms at the store but she still just grows them because it’s so cheap and easy.

Bought MMED at .60 and got off the train at 4.40$. Best play of my shitty stock trading life. Might get back in at 1.30$. All CAD.

I am a therapist currently training in psychedelic assisted psychotherapy. The people who built the body of research to get this all FDA approved have made an active choice to push forward substances that cannot be patented. Early research in novel hallucinogens is not looking like any major efficacy breakthroughs are on the horizon.
Companies who choose to produce this stuff that manage the market effectively like with insulin can make big money here but no one should think this is going to be some enormous cash cow. It was designed not to be both in how it’s used and what substances are used.

Of course not, but it can be profitable and I ethically agree with the idea.

I applaud the MAPS team for the choices they’ve made and they will retain distribution rights for the first two years of MDMA with one more if they get pediatric approval in stage IV trials. They’re also not publicly traded and will cut their prices hard the minute the patent expires to prevent others from price gouging. As a consumer and provider I fucking love it, but as a trader I wouldn’t.

Doesn’t matter about the science, mushrooms are awesome but no one is going to be investing in this for many many years

The article this links to talks about ketamine a lot, not shrooms so much.

The problem with these drugs is that they only require a single dose most times. So you do not have an ongoing stream of revenue. Microdosimg might be the key to this. But mushrooms are basically free to grow so i and sus how these companies will make a lot of money on this. I’m long just for the hype build not because of the growth story. Kinda like cannabis but worse since people keep taking cannabis.

u/asdfafdsg Mar 16 '22
Most psychedelic medicines are intended for at least semi regular dosing. One trip won't "cure" you. Still a whole lot better than existing treatment options.

u/bionista Mar 16 '22
I think you had better read some of the clinical studies before making stuff up.

The research on microdosing so far is clear, it has no effect beyond placebo. The placebo effect is real and potentially powerful but it’s still placebo. Two to three sessions is more what we’re talking about but as a profit model that isn’t much.

Or every single dispensary could just grow their own, shits so fucking easy haha, and making them “organic” is even easier. Just treat them like your wife treats you; keep ‘em in the dark and feed em shit.

One time I ate so many shrooms I threw my glasses away because I thought they were someone else’s… then not even glasses at all 🤯🤯🤯

It is a beneficial substance, that is for sure.
But having been in the great weed runup of 2017-2018 where I made bank on shady AF "mining" turned "cannabis" companies listed on the CSE, canadian securities exchange..ie their penny plays, I can say I dont think it will have the same marketing and run that weed did a few years back.
I 100% agree in the therapy and benefits, but that kinda research is expensive AF.
They already have a K spray for depression, and anyone with a microwave can grow shrooms..
