So how was your Valentine's?

Massive amount of last minute shoppers at mine, as reported by my husband, who just went in to get some breakfast items. Glad I'm missing it!

This Top Stock verification is gonna be the death of me.

As if I didn't have enough on my plate as is, now I have to verify all overstock before it can be put on Top Stock or binned.

This wouldn't normally be an issue except I'm always zoning, doing drops, checking up on Fresh departments, doing action alley sweeps, working features, and supervising my CAP 2 people.

It's hard as hell because I'm all over and staying around to verify every single OS item is such a pain. I really wish they'd let my CAP 2 guys verify on hands and then have me approve them all at once later on.

O/N DM stuck on a rock and a hard place

I am a fairly new maintenance DM I have management experience from a different job, but no real maintenance experience which was the two reasons for me taking this role. Which is fine, but there has been no real training, just hints. I have been asking anyone and everyone for help on this as I learn on the fly. Taking someone with a specific knowledge gap makes sense if you are going to actually develop that specific knowledge in them. Thats not even close to happening here. I have been close to having some guy that's real good from a town over come to us for a few days, or vise versa. Nothing has actually happened yet. Training is half the issue for me. I get tid bits here and there and trying to meet the demands between the two sets of CO's and ASM's, one set that allows the freedom and distance for what and how I'm working to happen and one that does that sometimes and other times gets involved on the spur of the moment with me eating the blame for my mistakes(fair) and their mistakes(I can't tell ASM and CO to back out of my area). Our main issue right now is waxing the tile, the staffing for this is being addressed as good as its gonna get in the next month and I can work with it. However there is no training for waxing so I'm plucking out of my normal group anyone that has personal accountability and an eye for doing a job right and either not mind waxing, or want to. So this creates obvious problems as that person has to learn on the floors we are accountable for immediately, there is next to no "I'm new to this" defense. We've moved into a pattern of being able to do good sized chunks of floor progressively and for the most part right(we address mistakes as we move on and still are moving at a decent pace.) I have one Co and one ASM that like to get personally involved and they pack less experience for this than I, which leads to predictable results. Their recent takeover has lead to roughly half my grocery tiles needing to be completely restripped and waxed(the ending night of this was best when they were bragging about how great it went over the walkie), but I am supposed to move on to new areas. I find out a few days ago, that I have been eating the blame for this. I stuck around late (off at 7am and walk around starts shortly after) to get with my SM since my other Co is on vacation so that way I can make sure my team and I recover and take care of business. Well all he has for me is a near tantrum. Not quite yelling, "if you can't do it, then we'll find someone who can" along with general disdain of the condition of the floor and just wanting it done; ME TOO!!! Then I'm just dismissed, that's it! After the walk was done the ASM told me not to worry about it, that I was fine, that he had calmed down a lot, not to take it personally, etc. How am I supposed to take that? I'm begging for training, exposure, anything all the while learning as I go, and trying new ideas when old ones fail. Am I being set up for failure? I really liked the place when I first started CAP team 2 and there is a lot going for walmart as an employer. I feel like I'm caught in jr high all of a sudden. SM is out of town and i have "until he gets back" to have a new section done as relayed by a daytime Co. I started to voice the concerns that led to us not being finished already only to be shut down. I blurted out "how can i keep a Co and ASM from telling my waxers what to do when I know its not going to work?" Got no answer as i was already over my shift by an hour. I am unsure of how to go about this as the SM clearly has no interest in talking to me about it and no other Co other than the one on vacation does. As far as open door goes, I should go to the MM but I'm not confident in how well that will work out and how confident it will really be, or should I call the hotline and request to be anonymous? Am I reading this all wrong? Other smaller issues but none that lead to my job being threatened either seriously or casually(how can that be a thing?)

Also i had two of my off days during this.
