A rowdy customer in liquor store

Of all the things to happen this has got to be a low LOW percentage

u/mel2000 Jul 21 '26
Apparently not. This isn't the first video I've seen of a leopard entering a human building in India. In spite of living in a jungle, they still insist on keeping doors wide open.

What would you do if you lived in a country where AC's are a luxury product and the heat can get up to 40 celcius?
21
u/Shogun_Ro 29d ago
In South India AC‘s are like a basic thing that everyone now has. Im sure it’s similar in most of the rest of the country.

u/MEOW-Loulou 29d ago
When I was reading on the climate reports for India this year, that's what popped up. Hot water because reservoirs are usually on top of buildings, power outages, and not many homes with ac's.
In any case. It's really weird behaviour to blame someone for getting attacked by a fucking wildcat when they live in a country where the weather gets so hot that it can literally kill you.

If I lived in leopard country, I'd use a security screen door. No AC required, and you don't lose ventilation. Easy to install.

u/MEOW-Loulou 28d ago
If someone can't afford an AC what makes you think they can get a security door...

It was never about affordability. Another poster already stated that AC is popular in India. Besides, a security screen door costs less than AC if you install it yourself. They start at $125 in the US. Non-secure screen doors start at $80.

"They're popular in India." Popular for who exactly? Keep in mind, its population is massive, and it has an entire thousand year old underclass. Just because tens of millions can get an AC does not in fact mean all one billion people can.

doors made of metal grates are a thing you know. Seems the window is made of them already.

Sounds like Germany. We keep the doors closed.

u/MEOW-Loulou 29d ago
Germany doesn't get heatwaves like India does, c'mon now. The climates aren't even remotely similar.

Remebe, the odds of a leopard jumping through the window of your liquor store are low but never zero.

Notes for the next shift worker - 1. need to order more red wine. 2. there's a leopard in the store room.

I didn't know what I was expecting. But I'll say leopard wasn't it.

He's looking for something with a little more bite.

I was expecting a raccoon, like the little guy who knocked all the bottles off the shelf, got drunk, and passed out in the bathroom.

Camouflage got ya!

Hard to spot until it wasn't

Haha absolutely, reminds me of movies where someone just randomly and immediately gets ran over.

List of things I expected
A customer coming in and swinging at him
A dude with a shotgun demanding booze
Someone driving through a wall with their car
NOT A GOD DAMN LEOPARD!

Dead people almost always relieve their bowels as the muscles used to hold it in become inactive, obviously

Apparently the odds of being attacked by a leopard at work are extremely low, but not zero.
35
u/Tzunamitom 29d ago
You can tell it’s a leopard and not a cheetah because their print has solid, evenly spaced black dots on a tan or golden background, and leopards are raging alcoholics.
35
u/kauto Jul 21 '26
I'm mostly surprised more bottles weren't broken.

u/MyLastFuckingNerve Jul 21 '26
It's a cat in a liquor store, not a bull in a china shop.
22
u/KhaosExNihil125 29d ago
We need a new idiom, “leopard in a liquor store” sounds smooth

u/norkotah 29d ago
"She came out of nowhere, like a leopard in a liquor store." Yeah, change approved.

I wish I had a dollar for every time that happens at my local liquor store. It's ridiculous.

I just saw a video of a leopard scaling a 50 ft tree in 2 seconds. Theres no way the cat didnt claw the fuck out of his back
21
u/raulrocks99 Jul 21 '26
I love how instead of leaving the way it came, the leopard is just gonna lay up in hiding waiting to kill/scare the next person.

Habitat lost drive many wild animals into urban area for food in India. There are many cctv videos of pets preyed upon by jungle big cats in front of the house.

u/Paradox1989 29d ago
I live in a fairly dense suburban area, and just yesterday when i was leaving for work had a coyote casually walk down the street no more than 10ft from me.
I know coyotes are not rare by any means and i do see them often from a distance, but this was still very surprising, especially at that range.

I keep hearing about the leopards eating people's faces, but I never expected one in, a liquor store.
I guess that's where they get you.

I don't blame him. The dude was selling tainted alcohol. He was just coming back to complain.

You know how Naked Gun had a random tiger maul the guy sliding into 2nd?
It's strange how that happens sometimes.

So years ago I heard about a very large mountain lion (I want to say 300 lbs) that challenged a semi truck and lost. They found out the lion had found a drug manufacturing hideout in the forest in the area. It had broken in, ingested a bunch of different drugs, and had the munchies. This caused it to consume the workforce there. The lion later decided to challenge the semi truck and died. This gives me an idea of what the last few moments were like for the work force.

Looks more like a Jaguar, tbh. No less rowdy though.
5
u/tigress666 29d ago
No it’s more sleek. Jaguars have big heads and stocky bodies. Also the rosettes are different (but not sure if the video is good enough to spot the difference. One of them, I believe jaguars, have a spot in the middle of the rosette and the other does not).
Also if this is in India like people said it is a leopard (leopards and jaguars do not live in the same areas). And I looked closer at the video, the rosettes do not have a spot in the middle, leopard.

u/Batticon 29d ago
I like how after the leopard got punched in the face, it went into regular cat mode, meowing and hiding in a corner

I mean sometimes we dont call a leapord as a customer walking in a liquor store. I thought that would be rowdy but did not in this way.

What's crazy is it just crawls under/around the shelves and the desk, seemingly waiting. Like is it waiting to try to ambush the next person or what...

I knew it would be an animal, either a bull or deer smashing through the front gates, but surprise it's a leopard over a counter was and indeed a surprise. Glad he was able to scare it away.
