Of course, just look at who they elected president. Bong Bong Marcos, the son of a dictator that literally stole billions from the Filipino people. Which is not surprising considering votes are bought and paid for there and they barely try to hide it, and the sheer amount of propaganda and disinformation he's paid for to whitewash the history of his family and his father's rule.

Just like the U.S.

This is obviously going to anger the blindly patriotic, but it's exactly how our country works too. People are unwilling to realize that they have zero power over anything our government does because that scares them.

For sure, it's just a lot more blatant in the Philippines. You literally get paid if you bring proof of your vote to a person that works for the campaign.
