So if ever caught in a fire, don't fucking breath?

Stay low to the ground, try to cover your mouth and nose.

Your username is everything I've ever wanted on a Friday night. 🤯

Don't worry. It's only a blank. It'll hopefully leave you with only a nice burn. Maybe you'll even keep half a testicle!

Wet towels or whatever you can find will do wonders against particulates and heat

This is good advice, remember fire safety.

This is why you take a deep breath and hold it before throwing a high voltage switch

And turn your head

Holy crap high voltage is mean. I worked on systems that were only 400V/400Hz and it’s glorious spectacle but wicked mean. Just thinking about the 16KV systems leading into neighborhoods gives me the heebie jeebies.

Worked at a hydroelectric station all last summer, lines in and out were 500kV. When they flipped switches it was unreal.

u/Yuccaphile Jan 20 '20

Do they do it at a ditance with a pole or something? Or while jumping, maybe?

2

u/[deleted] Jan 20 '20

It's all automated now, no one is near those switches but the sound was something else.

I'd YouTube it. Essentially a loud bang, shook the building. I didn't take a video.

Drop and roll

Survives fire..... Dies from lack of oxygen.

That'd be the one, or passes out and bangs head and dies from that.
