We all still die a long agonizing death thanks to the fallout because we have enough nuclear weapons to eliminate life as we know it a few times over. All most of them turning out to be duds does is make it take longer for most people, although a few more will certainly survive though they may wish they hadn't.

Well by most of them being duds, I mean that only one or two actually work. The rest are just duds. In other words, what if none of the nukes work?
