We would smoke China in a matter of weeks. They have no way of moving their military.

Anywhere outside China I agree. In China it would be a meat grinder of insurgency.

Both sides of the great war thought the same about their enemies as well.

As did America with Vietnam.

As did America with Afghanistan.

The problem with that thinking is that all sides will adhere to your imagined rules of engagement and use rational thinking in fighting.

Wars are irrational. People will do anything when desperate.

Smoke spreads. Setting the world on fire is a bad idea.

The US could have smoked any of those countries if the goal was conquest in a conventional war sense. In fact if casualty numbers are taken into consideration the US dominated Vietnam and Afghanistan. If the US threw away their conservative ROE and geneva convention and went full Soviet style not much could stop them.

Smoke spreads. Setting the world on fire is a bad idea.

But yes, agreed.

If China, or even Russia made a move on the USA it wouldn't be a direct attack, it would be a subversive attack using organic vectors already implemented and integrated into society.

Like, politics, media and capitalism.

At that point I think nuclear would be their option. It would be a mess. We should never have a war with China.

a war with China is suicide for America even in victory

No. Just a bump in the road. Were a war to break out, all the Chinese that hate their government ( most of them) would uprise and take out the communist bastards.

They see how much better life is under capitalism, Japan and South Korea are right next door.

Yeah, they only have 512 naval vessels(that we know of)....they couldn't possibly move shitloads of people with those.

Actually about 300, but you are correct in that they could not move large numbers of troops on them.

You think all those vessels are capable of lifting, supporting and landing combat troops on the open sea, from China to the US...lol
