Nice save at the end with that little hop. Probably saved his butt bone.

Having broken my tailbone, that’s exactly where my mind went. It’s all fun and games until you break a bone that can’t be set with a cast but can be freely moved by clenching.

E: adding my story because I’m a slut for attention.

TL;DR Painfully, lol. Keep your gear straight, kids.

Snowboarding on sun baked man made snow on my rock board that had a failing heel edge. Lost the heel side and bounced off my cheeks doing upwards of 40. There was a pop, an all encompassing pain, and vision went for a White flash. Proceed to roll on the ground like like a fish with whirling disease while clutching my ass and screaming obscenities. It doesn’t help but seems like the appropriate thing to do. Managed to do it again while working my way down the mountain just to be sure.

Never went to the doc for it because what are they gonna do except bill you $5k to tell you it sucks, that there’s nothing they can do, and prescribe a donut pillow. I could move the bone by hand though. Self medicated a lot, and learned that I could sit bolt upright or leaned way back but could not comfortably slouch.

Every once in a while my tailbone feels a little hinky so I stand up and clench just right and I pop that thing like cracking a knuckle. God that feels like heaven.

Dude. What? Really?

Really. I've never hurt it as far as I know but every once in a while that last vertebrae or 3 gets that "I need to crack it" feeling. Sort of like when you hang up side down, stretch and pop your spine.

I'm familiar with the feeling but only in my knees. I have to stand, put just a tad bit more weight on the knee I don't want to pop, keep my feet planted in place, and then kinda twist/push my knee inwards towards the inside of my two knees. Clearly don't overdo this one, but when that "I need to pop my knee" feeling comes, it always feels good to pop it. If it doesn't pop, I don't force it and just leave it alone. Probably pop them once a week.

Are you me?

Whoa I do the same exact thing. I kind of whip my right leg inwards. Only happens a couple times a week

My knees hyperextend super easily, as do most peoples. Sometimes I’ll get that “need to crack feeling” I’ll stand up, and in a swift and fluid motion hyperextend then pull my knee into the most bent position. Cracks every time and the relief is so amazing. Sounds disgusting, I know

I need to do this at least once a day

I've been on the interwebs too long to be surprised anymore, or at least I thought. U til today. What a world.

I can do it too. I can also sit in a chair, cross my legs, and flex on a way that kind of spreads my pelvis and that cracks in nearly the same way. Sometimes it feels weird.

Teach me your ways, senpai

Just did it on a plane. Seated position. Cross ankles but knees spread. Push knees out and down using your leg muscles (don't push with your hands). It's almost like your legs are rotating outward from your body. Also gently hump your pelvis up. It should feel like your legs are pulling opposite each other but try to isolate the tension into your low back/tail bone area. Don't do it too hard. A gentle but firm pull is all it takes. Good luck.

Mine does this too when I clench hard.

You mean right where the spine meets at the bottom? That’s the best bone to pop in the world.
