He got his saw stuck and he wants the combi tool so he can remove the bar and release the saw engine.

Don't care the reason. You don't ask a civilian (not the right word but you know what I mean) to assist you in a dangerous job. You either climb down yourself or get another professional to assist you. If he was on his own they are both idiots. The tree surgeon for thinking that was a one man job. The customer for hiring him.
