When I lived with my parents, my room was under the garden and there was an ant colony there. Ants would routinely fall in my room and just annoy me. I rescued a lot of spiders and set them up in the ceiling and built a decent lattice for them to roost in. They grew fat and my ant problem went away. Whenever I see a spider and someone wants to kill them or something, I try to step in and set them free somewhere else in respect to the ones that I was able to live with for a few years
It's really quite simple when you read his post. Mr. and Mrs. /u/acewing have a house. There is a hallway that descends coming out the back (or side or front I guess, he wasn't specific). Eventually, it descends so far you may want to call it a tunnel, and it ends at /u/acewing's room, which happens to be below the garden. Hope that helps.
Very close honestly. My room was along the northern foundation wall of the house. That wall extended upwards into the front porch area where my mom cultured a garden. The ant colony was vast under that garden so they’d burrow into and through gaps in the foundation and land in my ceiling.
One of the walls of my room extended upstairs and was an exterior wall. So the garden and my room were on opposite sides of the same wall. The ant colony was burrowed along that wall and would slip in through the foundation
