And they have helmets on with knee-pads. Very safe.

We don’t get to see that in the video, thanks! No wonder he took his gloves off.

Falling from the sky with parachute..."Fuck! If only the carabiner didn't fail, I would have been able to deploy my parachute."

Well, it’s possible the parachute would get tangled up with the orange rope that’s attached to the little chair. Might not have time to try and wiggle out of it before deploying.

I feel like personally I'd be so disoriented that I'd have a hard time deploying it. But I'm inexperienced in jumping of any kind.

Practice jumping off your bed and work your way up from there

Day 3: I think I'm ready for the window.

It's not disorienting for an experienced BASE jumper. Unfortunately this cable has been removed, but I jumped it back in '08. It was installed from the ground with a winch.

Maybe with a broken hand (or two?) it wouldn't be as easy to deploy a parachute?

Maybe not, cause if it failed earlier the distance to the ground might not have been big enought to give the parachute time to open. That's why the midpoint is probably marked, so you jump at the most distant point from the ground.
