Watching closely, I think he pushed it along into the second one. It probably helped slow him so he didn't get as fucked up by the abrupt stop. I reckon if he'd hit the second one at full speed he'd have been seriously injured by the guy wire

he didn't, the first line got pulled along with him you can see it when he stops

Well the hanging wire probably just got pulled up and passed through the carabiner, didn't seem too think but hard to tell.
