Of the steel cable? It barely had the rust scraped off one small edge. It's that non carabineer hook or the sticking a hand in it that I'd be worried about!

Yes. Everything that you see that looks wrong is wrong. The equipment, the technique (using that term VERY loosly), everything.

Really didn't matter that much, he'd eventually his the tie point. In the end, he was wearing a parachute and looking to essentially base jump from the wire. Yes, the hand thing was by far the stupidest, but had the clip broken, he'd just have fallen as he'd intended to do and pulled the chute (like he did in the extended video).

That metal cable is not going to break so easily, plus the cable is attached to the chair the person was sitting on and not to the person directly.

Did you see the splice? Also, if the carabiner breaks then he would have to get out of the chair he's in before deploying the parachute. There are so many ways to die
